I say this as a Yank who lived in France for 18 years and now the UK for 6: The far right in France and the UK is as ugly as it is in the US.
If Le Pen & Farage make it to power, it will be as embarrassing for the French and British as Trump is for us.

Trump is fundamentally a coward, he is happy to use military force but only if it's a mugging from behind and not a straight up fight
I don't think Greenland fascination is 'fake' in any way, but I do think Trump is uniquely and correctly loathe to involve actual US troops in whatever it is he's doing, and until I see some reporting on troop buildup or standing orders I'm going to treat it as bluster, but our allies markedly can't

I get why people desperately want to feel reassured by this.
But it would be incredibly naive to think this is the final word on the possibility of military invasion.

I have been told that this undercover ICE agent tried to get observers to scan a QR code “for his website”. The QR code did not resolve to a link.
DO NOT SCAN UNKNOWN QR CODES FROM STRANGERS.

Every day some story breaks me some. Today it’s the guy who approached parents at a school patrol, told them he was with Indivisible, and asked about how the patrol system works. The parents gave vague answers, followed him back to his car — and of course it was ICE.
