Especially since rural residents actively made it so by voting in politicians that abuse and disrespect them for decades. Some Red places have had Republicans in charge for so long yet they still blame things they don’t like on liberals and Democrats. Could they really be that stupid or faking it?

this is definitely true but it’s also true that it’s only politically acceptable in this country to mock cities or blue states. mocking rural/red states is seen as elitist and out-of-touch, even tho most ppl live in cities! as such, i think these rare moments have more staying power.
