Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum condemns the US invasion of Venezuela and kidnapping of its president out of fear that the US may also violate Mexican sovereignty & Trump then tells Fox News that “something is gonna have to be done” about the Mexican President too.
Trump says "something is gonna have to be done" about Mexico and President Claudia Sheinbaum in response to a question about whether the Venezuelan strike was a "message" to her government.

"WE HAVE THESE BOOKS

That’s a miracle — but not a rare miracle. A miracle like a sunrise, or a strange cloud, or a weird bird. A miracle that happens often, that maybe we don’t appreciate enough. It’s special."

What a fucking great send off.

Happy 2026, everyone.

Make it human. Make it weird.
All righty -- this year's writerly resolution is live, should you care to read it. The tl;dr is it's actually quite an optimistic read, so hopefully it'll give you some juice to kick open the new year and put words to stories that need to be told.

Oh, hey, sometimes letting Youtube pick the next video isn’t a hellscape.
Fred Astaire was 71, and had retired from dancing. This was his last dance performance. He danced to an Elmer Bernstein medley.

This has been mashed up with Weapon of Choice and shows how modern Astaire’s dancing was.

Spend more do less
On DOGE’s watch, federal spending did not go down at all. It went up. But is still led to cuts that closed offices, canceled programs and deprived people of food, medicine and other aid.

Donald Trump attempted a coup.

It still astounds me that the GOP gaslit America into forgetting that.

Pretty remarkable.

Jack Smith, in his opening statement to House Judiciary, says:

"Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and to prevent the lawful transfer of power."

The ceremony of innocence is drowned."
