Tonight's Doctor Who is Vincent and The Doctor. I will shortly be a blubbering crying mess and unavailable for the rest of the evening.

Spent most of the day reinstalling the main server PC in the living room...and the rest of the day fighting a life and death struggle with it to get the actual SERVICES the server serves up and running.

I think I got it. We'll find out in the morning.

I didn't expect upgrading to the latest version of Linux Mint to complexify a service to the point that I rolled back to my last version. I used to configure OpenVPN so easily. And then suddenly, it's a nightmare to configure, and Wireguard was no better. Back to Jammy. Noble is on the other...

IS THIS YOUR DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE?
The presidency once served as a reminder of our common humanity. Ronald Reagan described its purpose as building "a nation composed of good and decent people."

Have not had the best day today. Something was up with my blood sugar where it just plummettted and wouldn't stay up. I ate candy and chips, and it would go up a bit, then right back down to danger zones. It was almost as if I'd overdosed on insulin, but I didn't. I'll have some candy nearby...

Aw, man. Gil Gerard died. It's near impossible to be a Gen-Xer and not have grown up with him as a hero. A soap opera actor turned lunch box superhero, he absolutely dominated the late 70s as Buck Rogers. He was also Jake Rizzo on Sidekicks and many will remember him from THE NICE GUYS. Legend.

Just a heads up that while I work in Renton, I'm not there right now and not in danger from the levee breach down there.

The other script I was reading this evening? It was an unproduced script for a Star Trek movie. "The God Thing."

If you don't know what it is, no biggie. If you do, you know what kind of Holy Grail this is.

More info soon. :)

A teaser: Nearly Nekkid Oil Wrestling Attempted Assasination.

Very prescient for a script written in 1975.

Just read the Robert Collins draft of Star Trek: The Motion Picture thanks to a friend. It's very much a condensed version of the Harold Livingston Frist Draft and the Gene Roddenberry second draft.

Decker is a jerk in this one being pulled off his own ship captaincy and believing he's going...

Last Week's Meals: Laksa Ayam

A decent meal, but very subtle and plain, honestly. Dissapointing given how much goes into it. Still, not a terrible meal. But certainly one that wasn't worth all the effort.

When I'm in a natural disaster (which happens curiously a lot these days) I always kind of pride myself for not panicking and buying bread and milk I don't really need.

But...well...now I kind of need them DURING a natural disaster and I feel like "Oh, they're going to think I'm panicking." :)

Town is cut off from the rest of the world for a little while. Thankfully, I have a good disaster preparedness kit. I don't think I need it, but it's there if I do.

Even if you don't live in a place that is epecting a Level 9 Earthquake sometime in the near future, disaster preparedness is a...

Town will be mostly cut off from the other side of the river as of tonight. But we're safe. Holy cow, this is the worst flooding and windstorm I've seen since moving here.

Removed Windows from my file server PC in the living room. Two of my three computers are now full Linux machines. The gaming machine still has Windows just because VR implementation sucks in Linux

My wife has a theory.

The Belcher children haven’t aged despite canonically living through eleven Thanksgivings.

Bob is trapped in a one-year time loop, which resets every Thanksgiving.

He’s condemned to re-live the same year over and over until he creates the perfect Thanksgiving.
