Hand update. No real pain anymore except for some little electric shocks in the meaty part of my thumb. Pressing on it, or on my wrist still feels really tender. Still in splint, though, just in case. Don't want to mess things up. My house and me are a DISASTER.

Hand Update: I can make a fist again with only mild pain. Pressing on my wrist and thunb though still hurts and I haven't checked my wrist because I don't want to remove the splint just yet. Healing nicely.

Some people have asked me about today's news re Hasbro partnering with Rowling, concerned what it means for Universes Beyond, but I am NOT authorized to speak on behalf of Hasbro or Wizard of the Coast.
As a private citizen, I CAN say I'd part ways with WotC immediately if I saw it on a schedule.

Here's the art piece that I created for our city's RainWorks project, my last project for our Cultural Commission. But it was a lot of fun to do, trying to figure out what was negative space and positive space and make sure that it still looked like a crow.

Looks like I hurt my hand a bit more than I thought. One trip to urgent care and I have severe tendonitis. Into a splint and sling and one week of enforced bed rest.

yeah we’re going from “Dems are overperforming in a way that tracks with a normal midterm election favoring the opposition party” to “they overperformed by HOW MUCH that has to be a typo”
We're all desensitized to Democratic overperformances in special elections, but there does seem to have been a pretty significant shift in the past month
Dems are now overperforming the 2024 lean of red districts by, uh, 30+ points in special elections
I’m not sure “apocalyptic” is sufficient to describe how the environment is starting to look for the GOP in November

I do want to be clear that we’re not going to see 30 point swings nationwide with actual midterm turnout but we are absolutely in “Dems win the House easily as gerrymanders start to break, the Senate is firmly in play, and we have a handful of complete what the fuck results” territory

This has happened exactly a week after Democrats got an overperformance of 30 percentage points in a special election in Texas, flipping it.
RESULT: Democrat Chasity Martinez wins a special election for a legislative seat in Louisiana, 62% to 38%.
This was a district that Trump carried by 13% last year, so a big overperformance by Dems, but the seat was already Dem-held.
