This is what it feels like every 4 years when we gotta beg people to vote for the one not exclusively evil party.

Guys maybe the number one obstacle to organizing here in Minneapolis is the unfounded fear that if you get involved, DHS will put you on a list and assassinate you. It leads people to avoid organizing or act in ways that are completely detrimental to organizing. Please please do not spread that fear

As a libertarian, I think it’s important that Americans understand that if they just do what the government says, they won’t get shot.

I heard someone say it was “extreme” to demand the names of the ICE agents who murdered Alex Pretti.

No. Demanding government disclosure of the names of government agents when they kill Americans is moderate.

Wanting to read the names off the plaque at a mass grave would be, perhaps, extreme.

I do not understand the mentality that a seemingly large group of people have on this site, where any progress that isn't a complete and total victory is bad?

imo firing Miller would be a potential extinction level event for the WH but I hope they're stupid enough to do it anyway
I think the way to get rid of Miller is for Trump to find out that everyone thinks that Miller is the real president. No way Trump can handle that ego blow.
And it’s pretty clear that someone, or more than one, inside the White House is no longer working with him

Very real chance that the Rep coalition is in the middle of being shattered to bits over a heroically strong Minneapolis. Elected Dems are doing a good job of pressing their advantage.

And a not insubstantial corner of this website is pretending it’s not happening because posting mad feels good.

i don't mean to get too prescriptivist with it but to me this is a clear indication that you would be significantly better off reading an actual religious text. i don't even necessarily care which, this just sounds like a sublimated impulse to religion
with all due respect Ms Perry, calm down

I want to say this too: this victory was won because we had observers EVERYWHERE. ICE and CBP couldn't set foot in our city without cameras rolling. Much of the nation seemed determined to ignore our plight for weeks, but the avalanche of documentation we produced dragged the nation to us.

A cafe in Rochester's deep blue Flatiron building might seem like a strange place to meet Trump supporters. But over the power pop sounds of case/lang/veirs, you can hear whispers that DEI is the reason the charred asparagus panini is $12.

What I thinks coalescing rn is to use the DHS bill to reign in immediate abuses by ICE/CBP in the near term while the longterm goal is dismantling ICE—which is where the momentum clearly is w Dems & voters but cant be done until the next trifecta. Ppl on this site are just so addicted to losing tho
This is a very reasonable position and I think it’s worth reading the transcript before getting angry

You and what army?

No, really, Matt: if you want to deport and jail all my neighbors, you’re going to need an army.

We’re in the real world now bucko. This isn’t internet land where you declare something and it becomes true. You need actual dudes. So where’s your army?

The killing of Alex Pretti and the grotesque lying was an overreach by the administration. They've paid a price and had to pull back a bit. But it's when there's some disarray that the democratic opposition needs to intensify the offensive, and turn a marginal tactical success into a major victory.

The regime obviously thought they'd be able to take out a few dozen scary-queer-weirdo Antifa types in black masks and then successfully cow the rest of the Coastal Elite Liberal class into terrified silence: they were not expecting "totally fearless mass nonviolent resistance by entire cities."
It also sounds like at least some of them thought the cameras wouldn't matter because they were assuming that a couple of public executions would cause all of the resistance to run and hide.

One thing I hope people take the time to acknowledge: The sea change in public opinion has been achieved because violence, though encourage by a lot of people here online, was never once employed by the movement. Violence was solely the purview of the state and that is why the state is losing.
