Rewatching hbomberguy’s Tallarico video and the best show don’t tell part of this whole thing is how many random, no-name podcasts that dude did. Just a parade of Discord calls that allowed him to tell strangers how proud his mother was of him.

people who hit space twice after a sentence disgust me. what are you doing with your life? time is precious; you don't have the luxury to be following a rule passed down erroneously from a different technological era.

Breaks my heart to share this, but today is my last day at The Verge and I am looking for work! I'd really like to stay in video games, preferably in some kind of journalistic capacity but I can do PR/Marketing and maybe even a lil Narrative Design. Please get in touch!

it’s actually not hard to gauge the quality of any given tv show—if the characters involved make correct moral choices, it’s a good show. this is why the sopranos is considered one of the worst shows ever made, and it’s why every year the outstanding drama emmy goes to paw patrol

One thing I've always been fond of is our windows.

Having contiguous exterior\interior spaces was important to us- but early on we realized interiors needed different ambient light from the exterior to feel properly cozy

Keep hearing devs say that they only use ai for "pre-concept art"

There is no pre-concept art. There is concept art. That's where the idea starts. With the concept.

You're using ai for concept art.

not that long ago there were new videos every day of cops maiming and beating the shit out of protesters with gleeful abandon, and not only did “defund the police” get written off as extreme, joe biden got elected and proudly gave them even more money. it’ll easily happen again
there’s really no reason to think anyone who supported anything short of abolishing ice the past ten years isn’t going to go straight back to We Just Need Better Training when a dem is in office again. better to make that politically untenable before the campaigns even officially start

I don’t think they’re misreading them so much as they are terrified of the implications because it means the status quo has to break. there’s no incrementalism for this. mass radicalization of this scale scares Democrats more than anything Republicans could do and I mean that literally.
Kind of feel like a lot of politicians, even in Minnesota, are misreading the implications of this moment. I feel like the past three days have been tremendously radicalizing for so many people. I have witnessed it even in my own small communities, it goes beyond just incandescent rage.

From 30 years of being an adult leftist: there is no amount of polite respectability that will keep centrists from saying you’re being rude to them by existing and no amount of overt Nazi shit from the right that will make centrists agree to even moderate concessions to the left.
I can’t get over all the journalists and centrist pundits who sneered that “Twitter isn’t real life” when it was full of weird leftists but now insist it’s a vital window into the public mood when the entire site is Nazis, illegal porn, bots, and Belarusians calling themselves “Iowa MAGA Farm Guy”
thinking about how long leftists were blamed for making twitter inhospitable for MPs who are refusing point blank to leave now it's full of nazis and child porn
