@marcelineleiman.bsky.social has been such a great mouthpiece for the IGNM and the indie design scene in general. I'm shit at promoting the things I'm doing, so it's nice to have her be so excited about the event and spread the word.
As promised, here’s a chat I had with designer @marcelineleiman.bsky.social who wants YOU to make games for Indie Games Night Market. If you are looking to break into games, you’ll want to watch this interview.

Dirtbag Mahjong (@dirtbag-mahjong.bsky.social) by @paranoodle.bsky.social, a mahjong game with a twist, is out now! [PC]

It's riichi mahjong, with a few dirty tricks. No one plays fair here, not even you! Built for complete newbies to learn and keep experienced players guessing.

Still, god bless Takehito Ito and his Towards Stars universe. Guns that shoot magic, spaceships with arms, and a planet so sexy it forces Cartoon Network to create a successful adult programming division. One of my favorite things in the world.

seeing people being like "ehhh Idkkkkk horses DOES sound kinda icky, I get why it was banned" like barely 2 months after a bunch of people kicked up the wildest possible hostile campagn against _itch_ makes me feel like I'm losing my mind lol

Now that's it's been a couple of days and my voice isn't shot, PAX Unplugged was fun!

It's been years since I've gone (I think 2018?) but it's still a fun experience to just play some new titles without the "home space" investment with the boxes.

we don't just need to be funding small studios to make one game, we need to be funding them to make the ones they can fuck up before they can make the ones they learn from.
The winner takes all-instant hit-meme-flywheel mentality that has completely overtaken the games industry and even #indiedev is poison.

It deteriorates the space for risk and sustainable growth, until all that's left is to to either make slot-machines or slop-machines.

Thanks to everyone who suggested out of print anime for this column!!! I’m deeply appreciative and did my best to attribute credit as titles came up!

And thanks for making this such a fun one, @bwprowl.bsky.social!
Forget new series that never get legal streams, what about all of the old series that are impossible to find? Chris and Lucas discuss some really buried treasure.

This might be the most realistic portrayal of being an artist working for indecisive directors/leads I've ever seen on tv. Everyone needs to be watching The Chair Company.

I'm watching an adult creator get systematically cut off from every income stream by payment processors and now debankment could be on the table. She makes legal content. They are trying to shut her up and hope that we'll shut up too.

We must get louder. Call Visa and MC. Tell them this will stop.
#SaveSpeech

Ana's situation has gotten more severe. This is blatantly targetted debanking and [extremely unfortunate] proof that these call campaigns are getting under paypros skin

Keep calling Visa and MC and demanding they stop discriminating against adult content!

In the decade-plus I've been making my weekly videos, Rebecca was the only developer to have jumped into my comments to clear up a point I was unclear about—then she graciously agreed to be on the podcast. I found her to be as generous and kind as she was talented. It's truly tragic that she's gone.

Rebecca was one of the founders of Interplay and programmed & designed for some of the most influential games of my youth, notably Bard's Tale I & III and Wasteland. She will be missed.
My trailblazing game industry bad-ass friend Rebecca Heineman has passed away.

Fuck cancer.

Attention Indie Devs!

I just need 15 seconds ... of your game footage! A lot of people jumped on the 15s video trend, so I thought it would be cool to make a compilation to help indies get some visibility.

The anti-spam key is "kook".

It's nice to see Ultraman having a moment in the US. More. More.
The audience size here is also kinda nuts, the people yearn for Tokusatsu.

It is interesting to consider that some of the most beloved cinematic classics were either a modest success back in their day or underperformed at the box office.

Thanks to home media and even television broadcasts, they became re-evaluated and garnered the classic status that they have today.

The owner of this business is a old, wonderful friend & a former employer of mine, so please, I need all of my Pacific Northwest followers keeping an eye out for this stuff, especially if you run in nerd circles, so that his dream business, built via decades of grinding, can keep running.
KIRO 7 ran an article and two TV pieces on the theft of a box truck full of arcade PCBs, artwork, and machines from my workplace yesterday. If anyone in the Seattle area sees someone offloading a ton of CPS2/NAOMI/Neo Geo PCBs, stuff of that nature, please reach out.
