Hey all! I'm DynamicDonut.

I've been designing games for years, 4 of those creating puzzles for the game Two Dots. I also have a huge passion for game design teaching!

I'm always willing to chat about any new indie releases and you can see my personal work over at bwgamedesign.com!

We're now finding out that as many as 70,000 people had their government IDs provided to prove their ages leaked by Discord. Like I wrote last week, this is an inherent risk (and made greater by a rushed process) of getting platforms to do age checks
Discord says 70,000 users may have had their government IDs leaked in breach
The ID pics had been submitted as part of age-related appeals.

If the thrust of your streaming platform is that it's the best place for watching a subtitled medium, it's a natural business sideline to then build an industry-leading subtitling & playback engine that is so good, your competitors would want to licence it, not to replace that with something worse.

found this in my notes, good advice for aspiring devs
Rules for Game Dev
1. The gamer is always gamer
2. Games aren't finished, only completed
3. Always keep at least one infinite loop in your game to trap malevolent spirits
4. Don't code the small stuff (it's all stuff)
5. Respect the seven axes of player motivation
6. A bad game is bad forever, but a broken game is right twice a day
7. It's not about who you know, it's about knowing who
8. Disregard the eighth axis of player motivation
9. You couldn't make Super Mario today. Try again tomorrow.
10. The game developer with the most victory points at the end is the winner
11. Do not acknowledge the howling skull

Here's the full art for the front. I think I'd love to do more takes on different box art styles. Maybe I could even convince someone to make it a real model.

if being on somethingawful has taught me anything, there is no shame in posting on a site where you hate the mods

There are a lot of ways in which Cohost was empirically the better website, but the most pertinent one today is that it had a 100%-Poster staff. And the thing people don't appreciate about being a true Poster is that a huge part of it is knowing when to Not Post

the post office is a public service. it doesn’t need to make money. public transit doesn’t need to make money. the library doesn’t need to make money. some things exist for the public good and we desperately need lawmakers to stop thinking about them in terms of capitalism. these are not businesses.

It's difficult to overstate the influence Recettear's surprise hit of a digital English release was in terms of getting the Japanese games industry to turn their heads towards PC as a viable release platform.

We all owe a lot to Andrew and his work and I'm so sad to hear this.

Absolutely devastated by this news. SpaceDrake was no doubt a huge influence in drumming up interest for Japanese indie games localized into English and pushing for them on digital distribution storefronts like steam. Huge loss. Might be time for another playthrough of Recettear in his honour.
A tweet from Robin Light-Williams (@BlondRobin) stating the following: Hello to anyone reading this. I am Robin Light-Williams, formerly lead translator for Carpe Fulgur. I am very sorry to announce that my friend and business partner Andrew Dice, @SpaceDrakeCF, has passed away. Pursuant to that, Carpe Fulgur will be ceasing operations.

Never debate the inhumane about your humanity.
It’s a fools errand.

I definitely think some of that is just missing the time while the iron was hot, but I also don't necessarily mean it *has* to be more Amuro/Char stories.

Just exploring that world after Zeon's being "rebuilt" a second time but is relatively quiet has promise

Maybe this is more the case with manga releases, but I'm surprised Sunrise doesn't explore the UC timeline between ZZ and Char's Counterattack more.

Maybe there's not much there to mine for, but it feels (predictably) lopsided, seeing how much stuff is made right before or right after the OYW.

I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing that I've been so caught up in current work that every time I check out bsky I'm seeing like 5 new main topics randomly pop up that I heard nothing about prior

I honestly would just prefer if users were able to label their own stuff w/o being punished by algorithms. It's the equivalent of getting rid of a product in a store because it warned that it contained peanuts in it. My brother in christ, I saw the warning, I'm not gonna buy if I'm allergic!

I understand why because it's a sensitive topic, but a corporation deciding *what* exactly makes a work of art nonconsensual will always do more harm than good because this will lead to thousands of creators getting mistakenly caught in the censorship net. It can kill our livelihoods.

This is why everything sucks. It's not trans people. It's not immigrants. You are being robbed blind before your eyes and those same people also own all the tech and media networks to tell you that the cause is not them
@MorePerfectUS
U.S. billionaires reached a record breaking $7.6 trillion in wealth as of September 2025, an increase of $4.7 trillion in the less than eight years.

Most of that wealth hasn’t been taxed and won’t be taxed under our current system — per

Every time someone says "I didn't agree with all of his ideas" when begging for civility around Charlie Kirk, just ask a simple question "which of his ideas did you agree with?"

It's all you have to do.

"but we can't support trans rights, it's unpopular!"

just a reminder that US approval for marriage between black and white people at the start of the civil rights movement was 4%, reaching a whopping 20% by the end of the movement

it's 95% now

you don't wait for popularity for a rights movement
