while contemplating his bad life choices downstairs, my aunt's dog had made another bad choice and managed to dig out the creepy santa mask and get it stuck on his face. the black dog coming up the unlit stairs was basically invisible, so all we could see was that mask moving through the air.

I stand by most of my criticisms of Pilgrim's Progress, but I owe the author an apology for what I said about the main character making every clearly labeled bad choice for no apparent reason.
