check out our work in the most recent issue of @jcellsci.bsky.social !
Cover: Skin-resident macrophages (white) migrate towards a scratch wound (centre) in a zebrafish skin explant. To reach the wound margin, migrating macrophages must navigate through a dense network of epithelial cells, which are visualised using a reporter for epithelial junctions (α-catenin-Citrine, magenta). Live-cell imaging and chemical perturbations demonstrate that skin macrophages require microtubules to efficiently respond to tissue damage and navigate epithelial obstacles. See article by E. Peterman et al. (jcs264101).

Born too late to do vibes-based biology. Born too early to have all of biology already figured out. Born just in time to write a manuscript with 9 supplemental figures and pay 10k for open acccess

reading a review that cites a review: okay, maybe that citation will include some primary sources
reading the second review that cites more reviews: okay maybe THOSE citations will include some primary literature.
reading the next set of reviews that cite EVEN MORE reviews: i give up

Our grandkids are going to be flabbergasted looking back on this. Is a genocide happening? Yes. Are the people carrying it out murdering aid workers and starving children? Yes. Are they being aided by the US? Yes.

And yet all anyone talks about is the motives and tactics of the people opposing it.

🎉 Our study identifying the direct precursors of Merkel cells is now published in @dev-journal.bsky.social Thank you to our reviewers @reviewcommons.org and collaborators for helping us improve the manuscript. Check out these cell behaviors we visualized in #zebrafish skin. doi.org/10.1242/dev....

Andrew Cuomo gets publicly humiliated. Bill Clinton learns his endorsement is worth less than dogshit. What a great time to be a hater. A golden age.

Not only did the better candidate (and person!) win, it's extra special to see establishment dems and their endorsements eat shit. Not even my city and I'm over the moon.

What do we see when looking at cells under the microscope? 👉Some are bigger than others, some are elongated and align with the neighbors & others seem to move. Cool, right? But wouldn't it be cooler to quantify these observations?
