Museums talk a lot about co-curation, co-prodction etc but even in the most simple ways I love exhibitions which have space for visitors to share their stories and reflections too. The best kinds of sharing go both ways #Museum30
From "sketchbook" to reality for #Museum30. Thank goodness for our technician who can turn my scribbles into a solid structure.

I have been confronted with an ad for Advent calendars and so it is time for the annual PSA:

THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS BEGIN

ON

CHRISTMAS

THEY ARE NOT ANY OF THE DAYS LEADING UP TO CHRISTMAS

THAT IS ADVENT

WHICH BEGINS FOUR SUNDAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME
Three eyes for today's #Museum30. Two sheep eyes and one chalk eye on the Uffington White Horse. Very grey and blustery but fully rekindling my love of landscape history.
Day 2 of #Museum30 is signage- wayfinding, instructive or informative whether in a museum or on a walk
I'm going to try #museum30 but no promises. So as an introduction here are two objects from World Connected: St Albans and the Islamic, the most recent exhibition I have curated.
I love doing this every year, I have to admit it's more daunting this year as I'm currently caring for my dad who is now having palliative care as his pancreatic cancer is beyond treatment. But I have a couple of ideas already...
Here are the prompts for #museum30 2025 - the ninth year!

If you would like to join in all you need to do is share an image, inspired by each days' prompt, throughout November. Don't forget to include #museum30 so other's can find your posts.
Petulance! That is exactly the right word and its been escaping me for days.

Some good news.

London is meeting legal limits for toxic NO2 pollution for the first time – almost 200 years earlier than predicted – following the Mayor’s "world leading air pollution policies," City Hall announces.

The Ultra Low Emissions Zone - and similar policies - really do work.

I had never really thought about the fact that The Lord of the Rings is the 500,000+ word version of “the master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house” but here’s the explanation.
Since this whole debate is still happening, and since we are still not listening I will summarize what I understand the argument to be in the Lingua Franca of white nerds: Lord of the Rings analogies.
white cis men blocking people of color and other members of vulnerable communities because their risk factor is a lot different than ours is peak white nonsense.

It's also how I know they don't give a shit about us.
Midsummer Night's Dream for one night only with the actors only seeing their sides and the incredible Sarah Finigan as prompt <3 everything I love about @shakespearesglobe.bsky.social (and many of the people) in one night. I kind of want to live in Puck's dream now though
Watching the end with Dad who NEVER does and he is both amused and impressed but the dress was DEFINITELY impressed
Turned over from recorded Rugby in perfect time to watch Bill Bailey's Proms debut <3
Noooo I hate that feeling so much, and it's never true because if you're worrying about it you absolutely aren't that person <3
Amazing scenes on tonight's #OnlyConnect with the most passive aggressive connecting wall ever (fully correctly so)

Obviously you shouldn’t measure violent crime reduction success solely on ‘are people dead?’, but that last statistic does seem quite impressive, given summer holidays are normally a peak for youth violence.
Amid all the stuff about ‘dangerous London’ and ‘broken Britain’, new figures show the homicide rate in London is at a 10-year low. Killings dropped by 26% over the last year, from 78 to 58. No one under 25 was murdered during the school summer holidays.

All this talk about how infodumping is a neurodivergent trait—listen, we grew up reading SFF in the Nineties, OF COURSE we infodump. Y’all are lucky we’re not a full on italicized prologue.
Can't really believe we lost Tom Lehrer and Cleo Laine in the same weekend. Two incredibly different people but both voices that live with me <3
This one gets stuck in my head quite a lot. His songs are absolutely a part of the voices in my brain and I mostly think I'm better for it

Every Tom Lehrer song that people are sharing is the best Tom Lehrer song until I see the next one they share, which is the new best one.
I've been so much less aware of this year's tour all round because it's hard to pick up anything beyond the result and maybe a couple of stage highlights and it's made me so sad.
