Our work as an exit program is actually fairly casual. We interview potential former far-right extremist / white nationalist clients who then get paired with a peer mentor—usually me.

Mutual aid includes checking in on your neighbors particularly those who are older. Folks might not ask for help, but offer. Help carry groceries, do laundry, offer to help clean, mow lawns. Just check in even if it’s just having coffee and chatting

A lot of bookstores don’t carry Plato cause it’s not what customers want to buy. But it seems unlikely anyone is arguing this sort of buisness decision is against free speech. It’s only when it’s something like not selling some rich bigots book that suddenly it’s pearl clutching and free speech

Instead, the media and politicians continue to treat all this as if the president was rational, focusing on if objectives were achieved and asking if we won. What should be happening, imo, is a reexamination of presidential powers and if Congress should be passing laws limiting the ability of the president to unilaterally order preemptive strikes on a sovereign nation.

It’s no different from when he dropped that big bomb in Afghanistan. There was no reason so why look for one. Trump told Israel he would drop a bomb so he did. That’s it. Why not let him think he destroyed everything. It’s not like he reads the intelligence reports.

Like, yes war is very serious and the consequences can potentially be incredibly important. But doesn’t mean anyone has to pay attention or try to refute trump. All that does is legitimize him, making his decision making seem normal or thought out. Naw, he’s just a child distracted by a shiny thing

Honestly, people should just be saying ya everything destroyed and move on. Trump never wanted to do anything other than appear to himself like he did something. So let him think he did and just move on. The more it’s pressed that this was pointless, the more likely he’ll order another bombing

I still don’t understand, even after having an entire Trump first term to learn from, why people and media from across the political spectrum still discuss this bomb Iran nonsense as if it came from a place of seriousness. Trump just wanted to see a big boom on the screen in the situation room

For real. I pulled up Fox News right after reading the Cato article and had a chuckle (a sad angry frustrated chuckle but I refuse to not laugh at libertarians)
