That bloke that died falling off a ladder putting up flags seems like a smashing chap.

There's so much Dad Joke shit in the early days of 40k, it's great.

Ladbrokes ads on podcasts and the radio - fuck off with that "we're going to sing the terms and conditions and the stuff about gambling addiction".

I didn't know this was a way you could handle things. I'm going to tell my boss I'm conducting a review into "me being given stuff to do" in order to tackle the rising demand for my services.
Considering Streeting's well stated belief autism, ADHD etc, along with mental health issues, are "overdiagnosed", I won't hold my breath for this doing anything other than being used to cut support, along with opportunities for diagnosis, for people who need it. #r4today

Streeting orders review into mental health and ADHD diagnosis
The health secretary said the aim was to tackle a rising demand for services and the increased pressure on the NHS.

Oh man, Vortex is really good, Brawn and Blast Off look great, why would you fuck up the combined mode like this? It's so dumb!
Commander Onslaught looks friggin dumb and that's the lamest Bruticus I've seen yet. I can pretty conclusively say these combiners are Not For Me

Apropos of nothing, every time I've seen Tom Stoppard's name over the last week I've been hearing it in Stewart Lee's voice, pronouncing it Tom Sto-PARd. And I can't even remember what that's from.

Love how train travel these days means listening to 90 seconds of exactly what tickets they WONT accept on the train. It's like walking into a shop and having someone yell "WE DON'T TAKE MASTERCARD" the second you're through the door.

On the upside maybe the new tax will make bigger homes less appealing and depress the price below the thresholds so the owners won't have to pay it. Then everyone would win!

X files update - Season 4 starts with the end of a two parter and then we're straight on to "Home". One I have distinct memories of someone taping off Sky for me and going "Ewwww" at. It is indeed very grim but there's still some genuinely funny bits in here that I wasn't expecting.

More X-Files rewatch updates - as good as the core duo is, it's the recurring cast members that make this thing shine. It's easy to forget just how much of an utter BASTARD the Cigarette Smoking Man is, or how Skinner delivers every line through clenched teeth like he's an inch away from murder.

Just had a clip of Neighbours thrown at me on Facebook and it looks a lot like they're going to end it by having a freeway built through Ramsay Street. Amazing.

It's not as much dopamine as "a bit boat is stuck in the big canal" but it's good enough.
So this happened in Oslo yesterday. Four articulated buses got stuck in a roundabout.

It is never a bad time to remind the world that Girls Aloud's "Biology" is both amazing AND a bafflingly constructed thing. What structure is this thing? Are there two choruses nested in each other? Feels like it ought to be a mess but it absolutely is not.

It's not even an original game, it's just Apples to Apples but someone's written "cancer" and "anus" on half the cards.
"Oh you hate Cards Against Humanity? Well it's not exactly for the EASILY OFFENDED" oh really coz when it comes out at a party and I go "I ain't playing that witless shit" OOOO THE OFFENCE! Calm down, dickheads, YOU didn't come up with anything in the game.

X Files continues - Jose Chung's From Outer Space is clever and funny, taking the show's premise and managing to both point and laugh at it AND give one of the show's more sinister alien abduction stories, overlapping and bleeding into each other. Also Jesse Ventura is there.

I lost both my parents a few years ago, so I have some experience with inheritance tax. I didn't have to pay any inheritance tax (because the threshold is really very high), but if I *did* then I would have still had a bunch of money I didn't do any work to get, just less.
I don't think this was actually deliberately published as ragebait, but the entitlement contained within is remarkable and a classic example of the sort of sentiment governments sometimes just have to face down inews.co.uk/inews-lifest...?
We were hit with a £148k inheritance tax bill when mum died at 97 - it's disgusting
Jill Lemon has labelled inheritance tax as 'cruel', 'horrible' and 'unfair'
