The most bizarre example to me is using Mitt Romney's inability to block Obama's reelection as a grievance to justify nihilistic radicalization
No, from a harm reduction standpoint, the first priority is positioning trans people as human beings worth defending
We can also see what's been happening in the UK as liberals "strategically" cede ground to bigots
I would like you to be specific about what you're talking about here
Try having some standards
If someone is willing to put aside their distaste of trans people in order to join us in opposing Trump, they will of course be welcome in the tent

If they insist on making the existence of trans people a central debate inside the tent, they are not welcome
If someone's price for conversion is for the coalition to support positions that are harmful to its most vulnerable members, then they aren't converts
Maybe someone whipped it together real quick in Final Cut Pro, who's to say

The Democrats need to get a hell of a lot of cameras on the White House and plaster the photos everywhere. It's not just the brazen symbol of a megalomaniac destroying national heritage; it's happening during a government shutdown when ordinary people aren't getting paid. Make every American see it.
Not the worst part about this, but it compounds the insult that it's going to be done in the tackiest, schlockiest, least craftsman-like way
"You can still have your little causes*, they just shouldn't drive the agenda"

* Causes: surviving an authoritarian regime as a targeted minority
The implication does seem to be that we should lure conservatives into the tent by craftily allowing them to set the entire agenda
What makes the tent "big", then? Specifically.
PS: I’m probably just explaining something 99.9% of you understand but those few intellectually dishonest are making: Recognizing a big tent opposition doesn’t mean subsuming the causes you care about. This is not anti-fascism at the expense of X, Y, and Z. It’s your cause AND the big tent.
"Why do tulip prices keep rising despite weak underlying fundamentals?"
Next year is going to suck so bad
Even if you corrected it to "less medical debt", that is a very weird thing to downplay!

it's really great that the sneering editorial tone of the ideology comes in left, right, and centrist flavors, all of which reflect the nepotistic preferences of its ownership
Alt text for the screenshot of a New York Times economics reporter’s shitty tweet
Is every NYT reporter on X this soup-brained?
Plus massively improving minimum coverage requirements and the rule about how much income from premiums has to be paid out in healthcare costs or they have to issue refunds

And of course the subsidies
Three bullet points in and I'm already invested
Important for him to silo himself on Twitter exclusively
It's weird to characterize the economy they're describing as "resilient" rather than "wildly overleveraged"
Winning by letting your opponent skip an optional rule by forgetting rather than by choice feels way worse than losing
No one should be imprisoned just because they suck anyway, wtf
