A bunch of indie designers and Quinns stans are going to circle jerk this to high heaven (as per usual) but this is just further evidence to me that we need more people reviewing games rather than relying on a single opinion to be the thing that boosts or buries people's work
PSA for publishers: If you have a tight 100 page RPG that's been laboriously stretched and stuffed until you can release it as a 300 page, serious-looking hardback? I'm unlikely to review it 😞

The official Power Rangers ttrpg including rules for getting Tetanus is what radicalized me into a deep believer of "Design with Intention."
I know this may come across as unreasonable, but I feel like when I pick up an officially licensed TTRPG adaptation of some piece of media, it shouldn't be a coin toss whether there will be any mechanism for playing as the sorts of characters the game's ostensible source material is actually about.

I say this as someone who prefers playing OSR games; you gotta reckon with this at some point. The game is what it is, no amount of queer fanart undoes the 50 years of racist, sexist, colonialist bullshit that is part of the very bedrock of D&D
And with no disrespect to the fans who are so invested in the game, but I personally believe that a truly queer and diverse incarnation of DnD is functionally impossible.
