Thank you Rep. Ramirez. And bigger thanks to Chicago's Left—esp. @33rdwardworking.bsky.social, @ctulocal1.bsky.social, and other UnitedWorkingFamilies.org orgs—for producing and co-governing with Rep. Ramirez.

Let us all call our US reps, telling them to cosponsor Ramirez's "Melt ICE Act": reps.fyi

I'm still kind of surprised at how little reporting has been done on the connection between conservative YouTubers targeting Minneapolis and ICE's arrival. The Nick Shirley video started a lot of this! We're basically living through YouTube fascism and nobody wants to talk about big tech's role!
we talk a lot about social media destroying the attention spans of students but i think we have to really confront the extent to which social media is destroying the attention span of our most senior government officials

This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

We need to elect strong leaders who will actually stand up and fight for the public. We can't keep electing the same corporate Democrats and expect anything to change.
Have you seen his “Proven Progressive” signs?

While State Rep. Jaime Andrade Jr. claims to be a “Proven Progressive,” he's raked in more than $1.2M in contributions from the same interests he claims to oppose: tax-dodging billionaires, corporations, and lobbyists.

ICE is younger than the Taco Bell chalupa and about the same age as the Crunchwrap supreme and contributes far less to society than either!

This whole list is good but this is the key: they are coming to your town too, the time to organize is now not once they touch down.
5. Start getting your own community ready.

Meet your neighbors. Form Signal groups. Distribute whistles and organize trainings on how to be a legal observer. (There's probably an organization close to you that does stuff like this.)

As the wheels keep coming off the MAGA project there will be a political vacuum, don't let libs fill it out of convenience through the prebuilt rhythms of elections and politics, Dems have been a crucial part of MAGA and will make the changes permanent.

I don’t know how else to say it…
