Gas now being deployed at Mueller Park on 25th and Bryant Avenue in the Wedge (Minneapolis), maybe a mile away from the below incident. ICE now driving all over Whittier/Uptown and gassing people

because from my vantage point, the white house does not have a win condition. like so many past occupiers, it seems to believe that a sufficient show of force will deter opposition. but like most occupations, the only thing you get with more force is greater resolve.

can we just quickly clear up an often repeated idea that Minneapolis is a “small city of 500k” or the “47th largest city in the US”?
it is directly connected to st. paul, a city of 400,000. with the suburbs, the metro area is over 3.5 million people.
your city won’t be safer because it is bigger.

ICE agents. are putting. stuffed animals. on dashboards. to fool children. into thinking. they won't be kidnapped.
Thanks. We have folks in our community giving vulnerable students rides to school, and a teacher shared that they were putting small stuffed animals on their dashboards to help kids identify safe cars. ICE picked up on it and started doing the same. Horrifying.

It was the same each time: armed men racing out of a blacked-out SUV, seizing a screaming or fleeing pedestrian, and pulling them into the car without any attempt to even learn their identity. I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.
