In the first season, Megatron's main motivation is to get energon cubes to Cybertron, which appears to be a dying post imperial world. He's trying to save his people, even if it's at the expense of others. Which is kind of classic empire in decline thinking.

I suspect the Autobots are part of a religious group though. While the Deceptioncons tolerate dissent to the point of collapsing into infighting, the Autobots all follow Prime and are basically constantly in agreement. I suspect they are Missionaries and will become a problem.

The Transformers is a story about colonizers.
The Autobots are how colonizers view themselves.
Friendly, accepting, respectful. They're basically college kids on a cultural exchange.
The Decepticons are how colonizers really are.
Exploitative, militarized, resource hogging, contemptuous of locals.

It is pretty galling that the Supreme Court spent four years telling Biden "you can't do that without Congress" then allowed Trump to seize a once-unthinkable amount of power from Congress within nine months and concentrate law-making authority almost entirely in the executive branch.

One of the things that I still find kind of fascinating is that AI art still can't compose and image unless it's "Thing in center is thing hu-man look at."

Every once in a while I see one that gets it, but considering how often I see them not get it, that has to be chance.

Two big GOP activists from Oregon were in DC last month for meetings with Trump admin officials. On their podcast they talk about a plan they discussed to nullify the results of Oregon's 2026 federal elections. Pass federal voter ID law, then refuse to seat OR delegation because OR didn't comply.

Also, we proposed a idea how to do a end run on vote by mail. Concept is based on what Trump proposed. When you vote, you check everyone's citizenship as well as voter ID.
In a vote by mail state, you might be able to check citizenship during voter registration. You can send copies of your passport and your birth certificate in.
How in the world are you going to check our voters?
Voter ID, right? Vote by mail. So that creates a problem for Oregon.
But if federal government new requirement is to check both, and if Oregon can comply with the requirements, what would happen to our election result? I'm talking about the entire federal delegation.
For federal elections, we're talking about only federal elections.
