I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

Just saw My Neighbour Totoro stage show in London, and it’s absolutely astonishing — magical, spectacular, funny, devastatingly emotional, and wonderfully innovative. If you love the film, or just love live theatre, it’s a must watch

Every time I'm passed to a new psychiatrist I get the "where were you actually diagnosed with autism?"
Like they're trying to catch me out.

One thing I will say about Gaga that I didn't feel was like... night-ruining but it was a bit galling watching her crip-up (several times!) as a disabled person in a venue without a single properly accessible toilet. (Thanks France!)

If you aren't aware that airport security is made up from day to day, we got an international flight last year where husband got searched, including combing through his beard (for what? A machete?)
Got the same flight this week and he forgot he was wearing steel toe-capped boots until we landed.

almost every novelist you read who's not from the airport fiction or bestseller sections is working a full on day job, including multi-award winners and absolute legends, or they have a spouse or trust that supports them. virtually across the board. just normalize in your mind that's how it works.
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.
