@warren.senate.gov publishes a report listing all the $$ that Congress gave to DOD to do DOD things that DOD instead spent on Stephen Miller's snatch and grab.

As you look at these numbers, think how much cancer research could have been funded.

I hope people understand that if Trump gets his way America will soon be part of the global axis of evil if we aren't already. You see it in the Caribbean, you see it in Ukraine, and you see it with Trump trying to buddy up to Xi. We are a malevolent force.

New, from me: by embracing unitary executive theory, the Supreme Court is moving towards making all public employees fireable at the will of the President.

This will not just hurt government competence, it will aid democratic backsliding. 🧵

If I went in for a cardiology appointment and the doctor went on a rambling, incoherent rant like this - I would find a new cardiologist.

How can anyone read this and think anything other than, "Trump has no idea what he's talking about"?
Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.

SCOOP — Gregg Phillips, a conspiracy theorist with no emergency management experience who helped produce the election-denying documentary ‘2000 Mules’ with Dinesh D’Souza and has faced numerous legal inquiries, has been named head of FEMA’s Office of Response and Recovery.

My story:
Conspiracy theorist election denier given FEMA’s second-most important role
Gregg Phillips will lead the Office of Response and Recovery, “the heart of what FEMA does.”

There are no dream candidates who will make every voter happy; at some point, voters will have to swallow their pride and vote for the actual candidate vs their ideal one.

If not voting or protest voting makes it more likely that someone they despise gets elected, that's not the candidate's fault.
To some voters, yes, and you’re going to have to cobble together a majority if you want to dislodge this government and Trump’s successors. You can whine about how sexist the voters are, and you’d be right, or you can try to win elections.

History suggests that things don't go well when white nationalists are warning against "civilizational erasure" in Europe
The new US National Security Strategy makes for scary reading. I wrote about how the US wants to support forces in Europe to tear itself apart back in November 2024, and last May. This NSS confirms that's exactly the US objective for Europe.

The US govt is screaming—in words, actions, and now a strategic document—that America has switched sides in the world, preferring authoritarians and a transnational white nationalism over liberal democracy.

Like Russia, a US foreign policy goal is to undermine the EU.

This is really something. A bad, racist, unstrategic something.
As far as I can see, this nat sec strategy is far harsher on Europe than on Russia. There is no mention of a threat from Russia or of deterrence, only that "re-establishing strategic stability" is a priority. Europe is cast as a major threat to freedom. A radical, dangerous document.
