Notebook/tablet people, do I *really* want to switch from a reMarkable to a Supernote?

Imagine that I am somehow who hates change and also hates spending money, but also someone who writes and annotates an enormous number of words by hand and finds the reMarkable stuff difficult to keep organized.

If folks could share this, i'd appreciate it! We inherited a small collection of photo and video cameras from spouse's family, and i'd love to know more about them — the top shelf in particular. (Bottom shelf are our current-ish cameras, so we know them.) I'll slowly add close-ups....

Two wooden shelves mounted on a grey wall. The shelves are filled with various types of cameras and video cameras from early 2000s to early 1900s.

With autumn settling in, there's very little left for us to set up as far as our wine/liqueur projects for the year. So here's a quick overview of The Year in Concoctions.

I did really innovative work on a physics problem set in 2003. Got an answer that nobody expected. Some called it "completely wrong." Nobody says that anymore. Maybe they forgot. But maybe history has vindicated me. I'll sleep with my phone next to me tonight, just in case.

I originally misread this as "or any OTHER M. Night" which was very confusing for a moment. Like, imagining the world in which The West Wing was primarily a psychological suspense/horror series

Looking for an SF Bay person available for a short-term job cataloguing a large collection of immersive/ARG materials for donation to a museum. You’d be paid as a contractor, expected to take a couple weeks. You’d be working out of my home, so not being allergic to cats would be ideal.

This is extremely short notice, granted, but a Metafilter member has written code to help you save your Typepad blog before service shutdown (looks at calendar) TOMORROW. I just got the permission to share it yesterday, and it didn't sink in how close it was until just now

Honestly I don't know […]

PSA: don't trust google docs with your grammar corrections without consulting a human. I am now at 5 instances of it trying to insert past tense verbs into present tense sentences in this document. And the dirty clothes in the corner are "rank" not "ranked".

My ostensible bus driver just went rogue, took the highway up the coast and skipped the first several miles of the route, including my stop. Good job, Oakland AC Transit.

The flip side of this is, as a member of a few communities who use Discourse, and as much as I think the internet in 2025 would benefit from more forums, I desperately wish there was an easy-to-run piece of forum software whose consumer-facing UX was not notably worse than phpMyBB or vBulletin
