It was nice seeing hundreds of people at the Avi Lewis event last night because it reminded me that there are other political events that Albertans attend instead of "The Most Shitty Gathering of All Time" conferences that we hear about so often, like the one below.
I'm at Heritage Park, a petition signing location in Stony Plain for Alberta Independence. Folks are lined up waiting to sign, with speakers set to begin at 7:00 pm. Will live tweet below 🧵

56 days ago, a small budget Canadian television adaptation of an erotic novel about gay hockey players aired.

Today, straight rival hockey podcasts are beefing via thinly veiled digs & leaked texts to disreputable blogs. Dare I say, things are getting a bit... heated?

This is a Total Woke Victory.

When I was in primary school pageants/concerts were so much fun: you were in the school at night (!) and you were allowed to bring toys to play with until your class went on (!!) One year the boy I had a crush on (and had played He-Man and Teela with) brought his Castle Greyskull. It was The Best.

Current windchill in downtown TO is -12 and I walked to work in a knee length dress over (one pair of!) wool tights. Bless.

I mean, I am also a "trained classical musician" who has "studied musical theory". Should I make a video reacting to the music from CLAIR OBSCUR? Is this the French one you are playing a lot right now?
made the mistake of watching a Ben Shapiro video wherein he reacts to the music from CLAIR OBSCUR - because, whatever his other faults, Shapiro is a trained classical musician and has studied musical theory so he *should* be able to provide an interesting reaction/review - but nooooope

Last night we watched the new episode of All Creatures Great and Small and started Bookish (Mark Gatiss! Polly Walker!) We completely forgot that the new GoT premiered last night. A treat for mid-week, then.

I think some Toronto YIMBYs who find Chow insufficiently to their liking have been talking themselves into fanfiction where Bradford is the viable alternative and I really need folks to understand it's gonna be Chow v. Unrepentant Suburban NIMBYism, that's the ballot.
Brad Bradford is using his former bike riding credibility to curry favour w the anti bike folks and become mayor. 'Don't worry I used to ride a bike and I now hate bike lanes too' (for political gain). This guy is the worst.

I spoke to women (and one man) about what they find so hot about Heated Rivalry.

"The main reason I read MM is I just absolutely cannot stand reading or watching women suffer at the hands of men – in any way, big or small, anymore... We, as women, can just watch this and relax.”
Women are feral for Heated Rivalry. What does that say about men?

On the advice of my husband I have just started reading my very first @guygavrielkay.bsky.social novel, The Summer Tree. As someone who attended the Faculty of Music every day for seven years, reading a scene taking place on Philosopher's Walk is delightful and jarring at the same time.
