Somehow a generation of GOP edgelords was raised on the idea that turning in your neighbors to the government for simply existing is what the good guys did during WW2 and the Cold War.
This is a real thing being posted and circulated by the Department of Homeland Security, referring to undocumented immigrants as “foreign invaders” and urging good Americans to turn them in.

(I’ll leave it to BlueSky historians to find comparisons to WWII era materials.)
That's awesome!

Um, I didn't realize the Epstein files were going to cast so much light on so many mysterious moments in Tesla history.

I thought I could just randomly post tidbits as I stumbled on them, but it's already clear that this deserves much more serious research.

Please pardon the posting interruption!

This is so infuriating to read.
Greetings from inside the economic blockade zones of Minneapolis and St Paul! Don’t look away, please. We need you. It’s been a month and they’re trying to destroy us.

Judge Reyes’s conclusion: “There is an old adage among lawyers. If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither, pound the table. … Having neither and bringing the adage into the 21st century, [Noem] pounds X (f/k/a Twitter).”

This is Noam Chomsky talking about Cambodian refugees accurately describing the horrors of the Khmer Rouge that they’d escaped from.

This line in particular is why I’ve hated Chomsky for so long.
"refugees are frightened and defenseless, at the mercy of alien forces. They naturally tend to report what they believe their interlocuters wish to hear."

i think semi-regularly about how the Old Miss Riot had the Deputy AG and like 500 USMS, BOP, and BP trapped in a college building under a siege of molotovs and bullets. 27 were shot and in all half got wounded! The Lieutenant Governor had to stop the state police from joining the rioters

Kid Rock made a joke on SNL about the Olsen twins when they were under 18 about them being 'available' in an extremely crass and gross way. Field and grass were used as a metaphor.
there were multiple different countdown clocks until the Olsen twins turned 18

reddit had its infamous 'jailbait' community online until late 2011

all of this shit was just out in the open, it was awful
I feel like maybe it’s a function of everyone online being born in 2002 but I don’t think most people realize how openly and explicitly pedophilic american culture was until like… maybe 10 years ago

Ask millennials and older about The Halloween Snowstorm.

Learn how to dress for the cold. I've taken my under 10 and under 3 nieces ice skating outdoors when it was -20°F out. It's possible to call a high of 8°F warm.

Long goodbyes.

Offer someone the last slice of food 3 times before eating it.

Elon Musk has repeatedly said he "REFUSED" to visit Jeffrey Epstein's island. Correspondence released today shows he was actively coordinating a visit between 2012 and 2014.

It is still unclear if Musk actually did visit the island, but he certainly was interested.

So, incredibly, the White House has chosen to escalate in blue Minnesota and retreat in Maine to protect a vulnerable GOP Senator.

It's confirmation that Trump-Vance-Miller view ICE as a partisan govt-backed militia to attack blue America while propping up their regime. 1/

Ilan Wurman's anti-birthright citizenship Supreme Court amicus. I won't mince words. He bastardizes the common law. It is a methodologically bankrupt approach to the history of Anglo-American constitutionalism. It is little more than preening to gain someone's favor, but certainly not a scholar's.
