I am very convinced that all the people complaining about no Kings day had never been to any sort of protest or demonstration before 2020.

Every protest I have ever been to has absolutely been a joyful event, at some it’s even a festival with face paint and sign making.

Hundreds of thousands of actions, some bigger than others to build a coalition. And even when we reach the apex, chances are we’re looking at a protests and mutual aid and fundraising.

This fantasy violence will hurt the very people you claim you want to protect.

We will NEVER get to 3.5% if people keep waiting for a revolution to get involved. Guess what, this is the revolution. No, it doesn’t look at that fantasy book, SciFi series or graphic novel you read, and it’s not going to.

It’s going to look like this.

Fantastic. Thanks for posting this. THIS IS THE WAY. We very much need to keep meeting, networking & brainstorming to keep coming up with more & more ideas for how the Resistance can be effective.

We can't just wait for the next election, if one is allowed to be held at all.

Folks are asking what to do about the One Special Boy's AI vids and whether they should share them:

MOCK THEM WITHOUT SHARING.

This creates what an enthymeme, where readers have to SUPPLY PART OF THE REFERENT to understand what you are mocking. An enthymeme is the STRONGEST form of persuasion.

The thing about these grindset lifestyle posts is that they're all fake. None of it is real.

If you're not already plugged into some kind of project, start showing up. No Kings was good for seeing some of the local options, we know a lot of orgs made a presence. Pick your lane and get in there. #nokings
If showing up in community today felt great, imagine how cool it would be to always be working on building new worlds & resisting fascism!

Wherever you are, there’s probably projects to plug into. If there isn’t, you can get together with some friends or even just by yourself & start doing things.

Watched from Australia, the broadcast was live. So proud of America for all the GOOD people getting together and making this historic protest work, and making your voices heard against the bad apples inside your government.

I saw some of this today when one side of the street was a crowd of extremely peaceful people just holding signs and cheering with American flags and kids and costumes and the other side of the street was a handful of angry Magas screaming at us that we were “violent terrorists” despite their eyes.

Telling moment: I was walking back from the rally, but a couple miles from it, carrying nothing but my gigantic American flag. An eight year old on his bike sees me with it and yells "No Kings!!" with absolute conviction.

My friends, they have lost the flag.
I understand what you’re saying, and I can see that perspective.

But interestingly, it’s origins in 1560s France is closest to its most common use today, meaning acting rich and out of touch, ironically, including flaunting ones education in an era when college is out of reach for working folks.
The word and concept of bourgeois predate Marx and is mostly used today in a non political way, as a cultural term with similar meaning, usually shortened to “boujie” or “bougie”.
