Turns out my cousin lives in one of those affluent suburbs that tries really really hard to actually be a small rural community, with more churches in sight than schools. You just know the most homophobic white people live in this area
Somehow "go to lunch with my grandparents" has evolved into "drive half an hour on the highway to my cousin's house to watch football with my ex-cop uncle" over the course of the week, and honestly I just wish I was at any point given the opportunity to decline and just rot in bed all day instead.
