As long as we're requiring Dems to abolish the Senate filibuster, and as long as we're currently in the redistricting wars, I've got one more: Double the House of Representatives. Or triple it.

Sure, let WY have 2 Reps, and let IN have 20. Then watch CA's 125 and IL's 35 go to work.

If you're in the Trump family, or are part of the administration, or are part of his defenders, funders, allies, etc.. all of your financial assets need to be seized, and you need to be jailed. Taking everything you have is just removing ill-gotten gains and preventing unjust enrichment.

The one thing Democrats need to do, in unison, is to promise prosecution of everyone violating the law and the constitution in these cases, from the top to the bottom of the chain.
Holy hell. DHS just openly stated that its agents use “reasonable suspicion” to make ARRESTS. This is blatantly unconstitutional. The Supreme Court is clear that you need probable cause to arrest someone, as opposed to stop them to ask them a question or two. This is huge b/c…

This was always the goal and don’t forget that this happened because of the Democrats/Joe Biden. TikTok was in zero danger of being banned and the ban was non existent until Biden/Dems worked w Gallagher to revive it because people were using the app to speak out about Israel’s genocide.

there's a weird feedback loop where the media's reaction to kirk's death pushes you to speak more ill of the dead than you otherwise would because it's the only reasonable response to the simpering praise they're heaping on him

It's standard media-brain mentality: the content of speech is wholly irrelevant, it's all democracy. Accordingly, constant lies and demagoguery can be "politics the right way."

(Also, even this bad standard doesn't work for Kirk, who pushed 2020 election lies and bused insurrectionists to J6.)
This sets up an absurd standard where the only justification for criticizing Kirk is if he personally committed violence.

But the entire reason liberalism is under attack is the constant lies and endorsement of violence by prominent conservatives, not because they're doing it themselves!

He was a bog-standard right-wing shitposter constantly spitting out racist, sexist drivel and he got some conservative sugar daddy money behind him. That's it, that's his whole contribution to American society.

Flags at half mast. C'mon.

the right will give lip service to condemning political violence and then pivot to calling for migrants, blacks, women and trans kids to be abused and mistreated.

Let me suggest that if I have tanks invade my city, that if the courts declare me a second-class citizen, that if masked men abduct my neighbors, and I go to you, my rep, and say “help me fight my persecutors,” and you say “shush, talk about healthcare subsidies,” you, too, are my persecutor

Yes. I do not want to ever 'move on' again. Every time we turn the cheek, overlook the criminality, absolve the sins, they come back worse.

I want punishment. Deterrence. Retribution. Err on the side of excess, not lenity.

Anything less is asking them to come back worse yet again.
Democrats should be running on:

“I will specifically make life hell for these specific rich bigoted white man criminals with mouths that look like inflamed assholes.”

every day I look at pete hegseth's crime-ass face and I realize it is another step closer to us being able to literally run on "I will put every one of these motherfuckers in jail, vote democrat 202(6|8)"

Absolutely not. You're possibly eligible for a mulligan if a) you were in a coma from 2015 - 2024, or b) you're young enough that 2024 was literally the first time you ever voted.

If you saw any of *this* before now, and you chose this anyway, you can go get wrecked. You chose this.

I like Pete, but no. This needs to be Mallory McMorrow.
Hearing Sen. Gary Peters (D) of Michigan will announce retirement at 9:30 AM this morning. That means an open seat election in 2026.

What I want are Democratic leaders who behave as if we have a fascist in the white house who wants to conquer his neighbors, commit ethnic cleansing in Palestine, and resegregate the federal government. Because that's what we have. The vast majority are failing this easily met standard.

when you say, e.g., that the 14th amendment does not include birthright citizenship, you are advocating for a constitutional regime without birthright citizenship. you don’t get to somehow free yourself from the moral implications of that.

the democratic party is one of the weakest political movements ive ever seen. if you believe in feeding children or protecting autonomy, you dont break bread with the people undermining those things. and democrats - like biden and obama - do just that. that is weak.

MAGA is not resegregating the government as a "distraction." They're resegregating the government because that's their agenda. The things they're doing aren't distractions. They're agenda items. Stop communicating as if they don't sincerely believe in what they're doing.

everyone is dunking on the bipartisanship bit and rightfully so, but also the “focus on the future/challenges” lines are off. trump is trying to end birthright citizenship now! mass deportations might be next! sorry but you allowed this crisis to come to a head, you gotta deal with it here and now
It is time to look to the future.

The challenges that face America are many and great.

The Senate must respond with resolve, bipartisanship, and fidelity to the working and middle class of this country.

Let’s not lose sight of why the govt actually banned tiktok and what the inciting incident was for Democrats to take up the charge. It was speech on the app related to Gaza. Drop Site News has been doing great reporting on this x.com/dropsitenews...

Literally everyone in Dem politics and in Biden's inner circle who covered up Biden's incapacity since January of last year is responsible for Trump entering the White House on Monday

Unforgivable arrogance and sinecure protection at the expense of the country.

Incredible how thoroughly Democrats got played here. Spent four years following through on a Trump executive order, pissed away any shot at building a real youth coalition for 2024 by alienating literally every teenager in America, lost the election, and now Trump gets to "save" TikTok. Clown shit.
In a new post from the official TikTok account, CEO Shou Chew thanked Trump for his efforts to keep TikTok available in the U.S. He characterized Trump's stance as a pro-free speech effort and touted Trump's own success on TikTok
