The Constitution didn't change between Jan and Dec. But the purpose of pro-Trump legal writers is clear. To move birthright citizenship from the "Sphere of Consensus" to the "Sphere of Legitimate Controversy" so SCOTUS might feel better about taking Trump's side. Constitutional text be dammed.

No that is literally your job. You have immense resources at your disposal and multiple obligations. You cannot maximally achieve all of them. Your entire duty as director is to prioritize and allocate by focusing on which laws the admin wants to most support.

In addition to obviously being racist offensive sludge, this is just illogical. It ignores the idea of cultural exchange as an EXCHANGE. It's saying that if you oppose these people to the ideals of democracy they will reject them but somehow also be able to impose their own ideals on others. How?

The Take Care Clause was a byproduct of the lessons learned from the Glorious Revolution that the executive should not be able to dispense with the law promulgated by the legislature. It was not a constitutional provision to empower the executive branch— but to constrain it!
