The banality of evil is shocking. An ex-Big Lots warehouse for cheap consumer junk is bought by ICE to ship as many as 7,500 handcuffed human beings, as the Trump regime builds a U.S. gulag archipelago

A massive warehouse in Tremont. Pa. that once moved cheap goods will now detain migrants in an $119 million ICE deal.

The headline should be, "DHS to keep 2,000 immigration officers in Minnesota."

Instead, it seems the entirety of the traditional media went with, "DHS to withdraw 700 immigration officers from Minnesota."

This presser worked like a charm.
Homan in Minneapolis: "Effective immediately, we will draw down 700 people effective today."

If you're response to people calling these "concentation camps" is that they are no different than prisons, that's exactly what makes them concentration camps. Prisons are for people who have received the procedural protections of criminal law and been sentenced, not civil detainees.
BIG news from @bloomberg.com, which confirms that ICE has gone ahead and *purchased* multiple commercial warehouses with the aim of converting them into mass detention camps.

This is likely to be the big detention story of 2026 — literal warehousing of people.

Mamdani is doing what 99% of politicians fail to do- which is educate public about how government works, which helps stop bullshit propaganda against it.

This is essentially Schoolhouse Rock civics but desperately needed in a time of Trumpist civic nihilism.

No it can’t.

The usual gruel for the plebs, those that can afford personal tutors will still use them, betcha.

I dunno, spend the money on local libraries, youth centres and better housing and healthcare for the poor and vulnerable, like Labour are supposed.
We want to make sure tutoring isn't the preserve of a lucky few, but accessible to every child who needs it.

AI can help us do that.

Safe, personalised, one-to-one learning support to help every child achieve and thrive.

Unfriendly reminder, AI is being used to destroy trust. Do not normalize the use of AI. AI can not reliably enhance videos or low-quality images.

This is the quiet replacement of reality. Do not let this be normalized.

Placing a layer of algorithmic recommendation on speech does not make speech less free, but it does pervert it.

Algorithmic mediation turns speech into a resource extracted from human behavior.

Platforms do not value speech because it is protected, they value the service it provides them.
