We didn't say body cams on ICE. Their murders are already on video. We said no more ICE.

Abolish ICE and fire all agents is the moderate position.
I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

This again is why Minnesota is nucleus of repression and the resistance. This largely white place - far from the "coastal elites" - has the nerve to attempt true multi-racial democracy, enacting progressive policies, having highest voting participation and quality of life indicators. How dare they.

As Greg points out, the Times thinks they're doing a dunk on Pretti, when actually they're providing evidence of *motive.* The ICE agents should be charged with Murder 1.
So the homicide was premeditated. Planned in advance. Agents knew they wanted to kill him, so they prepared for the opportunity and took it.

Thanks for helping NYT.
More than a week before federal agents killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, different agents pushed him to the ground after he spit at them and broke a taillight on their SUV, according to newly unearthed videos. Watch here.

I'm calling bullshit on the media narrative that Trump is "pivoting" and "deescalating" on his ICE raids. The threshold is this: As long as the military occupations and the treatment of US cities as enemy territory continue, there's no pivot. ICE out. 1/

Donald Trump Is Frightened
Trump wants to appear eager to minimize out-of-control clashes between government militias and protesters. But he doesn’t want to stop the things causing those clashes in the first place.

Critical. And also it's the Roberts Court, nothing supreme about it. In trying to get folks to see Court role, it's vital we not imply it's a venerable, unchangeable, institution. It's people making decisions - other courts have and can make other decisions.
Don't forget the Supreme Court's role facilitating ICE's brutality and racism in Minneapolis. SCOTUS lifted an injunction that limited racial profiling in immigration enforcement on Sept. 8. The federal assault on Chicago began the next day. Then came the Twin Cities. SCOTUS greenlit these horrors.

Seems like, overnight, someone (who?!) made the decision that the US is going to embrace the most corrosive & addictive forms of gambling, and make them trivially easy to access, and shove them out in front of the most vulnerable victims in every corner of media & culture.

Why did we do that?

If you believe ICE would heed any sort of restrictions on use of its funding, I've got a complete Epstein file to sell you. MAGA doesn't follow laws, including ones it passes. The ONLY option is for 41 Senate Dems to show 1/1000th the courage of Minnesotans and block cloture vote for funding.

If the DEA had killed 80 innocent Americans in the course of apprehending one drug dealer, there would be riots. But we are so ghoulishly indifferent to the lives and humanity of people abroad that it's barely even part of the conversation.
A reminder that the US killed 80 people in Venezuela, and it would be nice if the US media cared enough to think that the life of a grandmother in Caracas whose building is destroyed by a US bomb matters as much as the life of a person in the US.
