I don't understand the excitement and support for sports gambling. These companies only exist to steal your money. Much like billionaires, DraftKings and all these other companies aren't your friends. Earl Weaver had it right.

Hard, fast rule from a veteran police reporter: Excepting anyone engaged in infiltrating a criminal conspiracy in an undercover capacity, any law officer who hides his identity from the public is a shitheel is doing vile shit and is, in fact, actively destroying the credibility of law enforcement.
This really hasn’t gotten enough attention this week.

On the myth of momentum and more baseball wisdom from Earl Weaver.
Momentum is Tomorrow's Starting Pitcher
That's not exactly how Earl said it, but we dive into his words, Dave Roberts' bizarre Blake Treinen fixation, and where the World Series goes next (no idea).

Silencing dissent is now second nature to this administration. We have fully abandoned the premise of allowing public argument and debate and are instead entrenched in rote fascism. The thought police are entirely empowered, and they treat us no longer as citizens of a republic,
but as sheep.

17000 days ago (April 6, 1979), legendary manager Earl Weaver picks up the 1000th win of his career as the Orioles beat the White Sox 5-3 on Opening Day.

Before the game, the O’s new mascot The Bird is hatched from an egg. I’m sure Earl had a four-letter word or three ready to go.
