And setting aside the moral abhorrence for a second, you're right! Democrats would never put all their chips on a fight they know they're losing just to be maximally obnoxious. That's why Democrats are going to win.

Demonizing specifically white women who act in solidarity with racial minorities isn’t new. Here’s a southern political cartoon depicting Harriet Beecher Stowe, published in 1853. Surrounded by devils, she‘s holding a book titled “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” Subtitle: “I Love the Blacks.”

This is why leftists who think they’ll be able to recruit modern conservatives with economic messages about socialism are deluded. Conservatives are fundamentally opposed to collectivism
I genuinely think one thing that trips up folks on the left is that they can't imagine not sharing certain core values. Lemme explain. Here's an intuition pump:

Say you're in negotiations with counterparty X. And there are two possible deals on the table ...

People don't want to accept this because it isn't true. The <primary reason> we have Trump today is because 52 & 43 GOP Senators failed to fulfill their oaths of office in two impeachment trials. It should have never gotten to the point that it was Joe Biden's responsibility, or Merrick Garland's.
People don't want to accept that the primary reason that we have Trump today is that the previous administration completely failed. It should have never gotten to the point where it was in the so-called hands of the voters. It was already too late by then.

Anyway I would submit that those who insist that any attack on male supremacy or articulation of men’s exploitation and abuse of women is unacceptable and suspicious do indeed have a gender politics, and that the most apt name for it is “antifeminism.”
This essay also touches on something I’ve found especially painful: the hostility of some queer and psychoanalytic thinkers toward lesbian and radical feminist intellectuals—and the defensive, misogynist rejection of feminist idealism that motivates it. taliabhattwrites.substack.com/p/political-...

It's always been a capital crime to commit insubordination against male supremacy; enforcement happened in private domestic settings.

Now that we're no longer pretending women are full citizens of the US--cf abortion rights--officers of the law join openly in enforcing the male supremacist regime.
The MAGA regime is currently doubling down on its tactical stance of “we will kill women like dogs for merely displeasing us.”

I think the misogynist contempt that’s evident as a motivation in the murder of Renee Good makes her killing by a state actor more similar to so-called private violence—eg domestic violence homocides—than some arguments that rely on a firm distinction between state and private violence can sustain.

“It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can restrain him from lynching me” is one of MLK’s more underrated quotes because it’s a very good observation about the limits of politics.
i don't recall who said it but there was some civil rights organize that bluntly said that he didn't give a damn about what his white neighbor thought of him, he only cared whether those thoughts had material consequences

It's remarkable how consistently older media folks seem to think "wildly differing moral standards" shouldn't be a barrier to relationships.

Or really, shouldn't be a barrier for liberals. Because these are always a scolding of young liberal women.

Got called “carceral” for this which means it’s time to lay my favorite game: does this person not know the difference between civil and criminal law, or do they simply think that “carceral” is a magic word that delegitimizes all feminist resistance to sexual abuse?
These technologies can and are being used to create lifelike images and videos of actual living women and girls. For what I think are pretty obvious gendered civil rights reasons, it needs to be a recognized civil cause of action to create an AI image or avatar of a woman without her consent.
"And I never say no"

We need to have a serious talk about the way "AI companion" apps not only prey on the vulnerable, but are priming their users to ignore consent and to conflate love with control.

We need AI regulations across so many sectors, but this area is particularly horrifying.

This is absolutely correct. A constitution is every citizen's compact with the government, not some secret scroll that only members of a priest caste are allowed to access.
It's largely lost today because we've allowed constitutional law to become the exclusive preserve of lawyers, but the original idea of written constitutionalism was partly one of public education, publicity, & (proto-)democracy—people should be able to read & come to know the law which binds them
The evidence is the text. All you have to do is read the Constitution.
