I just had a major issue with my septic system and had it pumped and the main drain line cleaned out, and the sum total of all of Megan McArdle’s columns wasn’t worth the 1500 gallons of sewage or the 5 pounds of tree roots that got removed.

The solution here is of course a robust welfare safety net so that if she loses her job her children don't go hungry. The solution is definitely not "Let's just let hideous racists keep their jobs no matter how much more racist they get to customers and coworkers."
