Yeah my job announced a 5% increase for the coming year which is not bad compared to most, but I'm guessing in 2026 the increase they announce will be a lot bigger.

Today my daughter's preschool is holding a farewell assembly for one of her classmates whose mother has no choice but to self deport. The school is hoping it will be joyful in tone, so we might make this less upsetting for this 3 year old.

It was a resounding win in terms of electoral college votes, but if ~50k votes across 3 states had flipped he would have lost. He barely won the states that he needed to win. Similar to how Trump would have lost 2024 if ~100k votes across 3 states had flipped. There was nothing resounding about it.

If you ever stuck up for "ideological diversity ' or good faith debate or whatever and thought guys like Thiessen were part of that congratulations you are a huge sucker and Thiessen and the other conservatives are laughing at you now that they won.

Yeah at the end of the day this is a centrist to center-right country. The vast majority of voters are uninformed and/or morons, but conservatives can always bank on cultural resentment and bigotry to help herd enough of their morons to be competitive no matter what.
