A massive problem today is the uneven distribution of shame. Some of us are running dedicated on-site shame servers 24/7 while others have no access to shame at all, even though they desperately need it. What we need to do is put shame in the cloud

Hey, @rweingarten.bsky.social and @aft.org, please immediately cancel your partnerships with "A.i." companies. You cannot morally and ethically justify pushing this kind of garbage on school kids.

What makes this story about cats in China really fascinating to me is not JUST that leopard cats were there before house cats were. People changed the environment and they arrived.

But what's wild to me is that they left...and they left BECAUSE OF PEOPLE. www.sciencenews.org/article/dna-...
Ancient DNA reveals China’s first 'pet' cat wasn’t the house cat
The modern house cat reached China in the 8th century. Before that, another cat — the leopard cat — hunted the rodents in ancient Chinese settlements.

Living in Maryland and having a portrait of Pinochet in your house is weird as hell. Complete freak behavior.
Let’s take one example. Jack Posobiec has access to the Oval Office and yesterday posted a message of approval for Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet.

I don’t just want Posobiec to go back into the shadows and use coded messages for his bigotry. I want him to feel the full weight of consequences.

It’s not “nationalism” in any American sense, loyal to the Constitution or values it embodies. It’s a white internationale intent on drawing a cordon blanc, you might say — and coldly willing to place democratic multiracial societies with long ties of loyalty to the U.S. outside of it.
I mean this is straight up white supremacy:

Right now is the time to support primaries for any do-nothing Ds. We've got an incredible chance to win a bunch of seats in 2026. Let's fill them with fighters, not chumps.
What sticks out to me is how absolutely unafraid of prosecution this psychopath is. Part of it is narcissistic personality disorder, but it's mostly the perceived weakness of Democrats. Should they retake power, no one expects Democrats to hold anyone accountable.

Carrying the water for billionaires should be disqualifying for Dem candidates whose attention should be directed at the rest of the population of the US and not 1100 people with vastly more wealth than they could ever spend. Sorry, Gavin, that’s old think pandering to donors.
Gov. @gavinnewsom says he disagrees with Mayor @zohrankmamdani about the need for a wealth tax on billionaires, which he is “adamantly against” - says Dems are a “big tent party” with both views.

The antidote cannot be pursuing far-right policy in half-measures like Starmer is or Biden did on Israel & the border. Internationalist solidarity or barbarism

Maybe I just spend a lot of time thinking about the attempted takeover of my country by white-nationalists, but… yes, I agree that it’s difficult to read Pantone’s selection of white as their “color of the year” as an entirely non-political statement.
what did Pantone do now?! i ask myself before searching... oh god.

"a softer white, a white that is not bleached, a very natural-looking white"

but not, ya know, a *supremacist* white.
