Any progressive watching that disgraceful performance was left with no doubt at all about what Clinton would do to get their votes: absolutely nothing. /3
Clinton, instead, went on an entitled rant about how she was "WINNING," about how she was so much better than Sanders, how her "policies" were so much better than his and looked absolutely appalled that she'd even be asked such a question. Her malignant narcissism on full display. /2
Toward the end of that primary, Clinton was interviewed by Rachel Maddow, who asked her what she's be willing to grant Sanders' voters to get them onboard with her campaign. Even a moderately competent politician could have knocked that one right out of the park. /1
Clinton definitely wasn't "great with policies and a great politician." That's part of why she was so hated.

The Bird with the Crystal Plumage. 1970 Terrific debut from Argento put giallo on the radar. Smart, influential and a global success. Not bad for a new guy.

Don't assume that. The point of the exercise was to tilt the process in Clinton's favor/in favor of the party Establishment-backed candidate. To make sure no one else, whoever may challenge, had a chance.
Less than a year later, in fact, David F. Friedman had THE ADULT VERSION OF JEKYLL & HIDE on the screen, and more would follow in the decades since. But DR. JEKYLL & SISTER HYDE is by far, the best of the lot.

This wasn't the first time a Jekyll/Hyde movie incorporated a gender-swap--that would (as far as I know) A MODERN DR. JEKYLL, a little-remembered lost film from 1908--and it certainly wouldn't be the last.

The film was written by Brian Clemens, one of the real undersung stars of late Hammer horror, and beside Stevenson, his riot of a screenplay also manages to work in both the Jack the Ripper and Burke/Hare killings.

Ralph Bates, as Henry Jekyll, manages to turn himself into "Edwina Hyde," the breathtaking Martine Beswick, who seems to be having an absolute ball as his evil alter ego.

Released on this day--17 Oct.--in 1971, Roy Ward Baker's DR. JEKYLL & SISTER HYDE, Hammer's excellent gender-swapping riff on the Robert Louis Stevenson novella (the studio's 3rd take on it).

That particular one marshals all of the (rather extensive) available3 evidence into one place and makes the case that yes, Sanders would have probably won.
A great, crazy, VERY '80s made-for-television horror melange featuring vampires, zombies, ghosts, a great vintage soundtrack, a goofy "Thriller"-inspired song-and-dance number and Wolfman Jack. This was ABC's Halloween offering in 1985 (though it aired the night after). Loads of fun.

"he was not going to win the general against Trump."

All of the relevant evidence points in the other direction. That doesn't mean Sanders would have won. It does mean that anyone claiming the contrary not only does so without any evidence but in the face of all evidence.

Yes, Sanders Would Have Won: Exploding False Clintonite Narratives

Yes, and the Clintonite right--the faction always so vocally down on "purity tests"--are, in fact, the foremost advocates of purity testing. Their first and most important purity test: no progressives. Ever.

Fortunately, they don't really represent anyone.
Don't castigate them too harshly. Such people are looking to their political "leaders" for, well, leadership because that's how the system has always worked. They have entirely failed to realize that, with the burgeoning Trump dictatorship, such context is out the window and absurd.
The Clintonite-right "leadership" of the Dems are certainly weak, certainly stupid, certainly politically disastrous and are aggressively feeding the U.S. to fascism, just as they have been for years, but to call them "ineffective," one has to evaluate their mission.
"who still have their Biden/Harris signs, absolutely hopping mad that Jeffries and Schumer are as incompetent as they are."

...which is utterly bizarre. They got the kind of clownish Clintonite-right "leadership" they wanted. They have, in fact, had it for years.
Michelle--who is indestructible--was in both MARI-COOKIE (as Sheriff Marga, whose uniform and interrogation techniques are quite memorable) and LUST FOR FRANKENSTEIN.

And yes, Sanders' voters overwhelmingly voted for Clinton, including those ordinarily-inactive voters that he was able to bring into the process. Without him in the race, she would have lost by even larger numbers.
