See, this is the problem: all over the world, the bad guys are doubling down, while the good guys (or even the neutral guys) are backing away. What Ubisoft SHOULD have said is that in the next game you’re an immigrant running from ICE, and go on a mission to destroy the whole racist administration.

I notice the opposite (mostly) on the bus. People often move to help others get in or out, partially out of self-interest (the faster you board or get off, the faster we all get there). There's a shared interest whereas in cars it's often a zero-sum game (If I cut you off I win).

Former mayor Greg Nickels dropped out of UW to "pursue his passion in politics." Has Harrell told him yet that it makes him an untrustworthy quitter, unfit to be the mayor? I think he failed to mention that when they dedicated the waterfront park together.

I think the key point is his job performance. But it's also ironic that Harrell is the one saying that Wilson lacks experience running something as large as Seattle, while he and previous candidates for mayor have also lacked such experience. By his standard, he should never have been elected!

Before he took office, Harrell didn't have experience running anything this size either. And once he did take office: I think he blew the renewal of the police contract (big raises, little accountability), failed to make real progress on homelessness, and did nothing to fix vacant storefronts.

People who had actually worked in civil service in office (wonder why that almost never happens?). But without ranked choice voting, it's him or her. I'll take the person with less experience, but more energy inspiration, over someone who's done the job badly (and claims better isn't possible).

Greg Nickels had some legislative, but no management experience (and like Katie, no college degree). Durkan had never been anything but a lawyer managing lawyers (which I think creates a particular blindness). As a former Federal and current local government worker, I would love to see more...

Rodney Taylor was days away from receiving new prosthetic legs when ICE grabbed him.

When I was in the Federal Highway Administration, we almost never had a full year's budget to start. We'd get a small %, in a continuing resolution, then we'd suddenly get a lot to spend in a few months when they finally agreed. Congressional dysfunction makes it hard for agencies to work well.
