I think it can be more effective with the higher average velocities we're getting now. Feels like the high pitch always used to be a setup to a down and away wipeout pitch.

DarkGod's T-Engine takes it even further, defining so much in Lua, but I'm neither that brave nor that good.

This is the easiest advice you can take. Externalize all strings, and if you can separate the rest of your game config, do that too (SotW is a C++ roguelike engine whose actual world and story is defined in editable ini, txt, xml, lua files).

It's #portfolioday! I'm presently a senior narrative designer at Blizzard, but before that I was at Bungie and Arkane. I wrote for the Writer's Guild award-nominated Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, and a bunch of critically acclaimed seasons and expansions in Destiny 2.

I think about this as my colleagues enthusiastically use copilot, gpt, etc. There's a small number of good tech Q&A sites (SO, etc). What happens when people stop going to the source? The death of source material had already started.

I'm the same way. Made a few pages of notes at the start of SotW to get my head straight, but otherwise I work off a big textfile of bugs and suggestions that I can do in any order I want. I made a second game, no notes either. Something amazing about just finding what you want to do & going with it

Only been once, ten years ago, in the middle of winter (C went to the Midwest Clinic and I tagged along). It was fantastic and I'd love to go back, see the Cubs play at Wrigley.
