The National Guard is not a law enforcement agency. It is untrained in a policing agency's standards, techniques, tactics and mission in any nation of laws. Only in a police state do officials equate military units with policing.

To top it off, Custer and his troops also killed 800 of the Indians' horses in an effort to limit Indigenous mobility and subsistence. The US in its "Indian Wars" attempted to destroy not only Indigenous peoples but also entire Indigenous ecosystems.
