Jeff Flake, Joe Manchin and Tina Smith all decided to leave the Senate during the Trump era. On “The Interview,” the current and former lawmakers open up about why they think the Senate is broken and what it would take to fix it. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/13/m...

He’s elite. Sorry to all the haters.
The Lightning just put 220 shot attempts, 97 shots on goal, and 64 high danger chances on Ilya Sorokin over the past 11 days and he gave up 3 total goals against in that time

We gotta do a nationwide inquest into antisocial behavior. Leaving your dog's poop on the street. Not returning shopping carts. The What's Wrong With You initiative
people playing music/videos on their phone speakers in public is more than just mildly annoying and is instead a leading indicator of the decline of community and empath
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Rhetorical question: Why are Dodgers fans so fucking insufferable?
The Mets just panicked and overpaid Jorge Polanco $40M for 2 years to replace Pete at first. They lost Edwin Díaz over $3 million. Polanco is a nice player but this is embarrassing.

The Colts will start QB Philip Rivers on Sunday against the Seahawks, sources tell The Insiders.

Age 44, out of retirement, after a full week of practice, Rivers is a go.

I work at a college in NYC and I an constantly having to deal with stuff like this from Long Island/Westchester/out-of-state families
More than anything else, it’s just sad that people start with an impression that NYC isn’t safe for humans, impressed upon them by the nastiest lying humans to ever walk the earth

This is why I laugh at anyone saying that the Pats Are Back or whatever. Total paper tiger shit.
Holy crap I didn't realize what a cakewalk the Pats schedule was. Outside of the Bills and sorta the Bucs, they've played AFC East (Jets, Dolphins), Browns, Giants, Raiders, Saints, Titans, Falcons, Bengals.

Just like the old Brady days that got him a free pass to the postseason.

Exciting news! Thanks to our sale, we've rocketed all the way up to over 4,900 paying subscribers. This means we can cross another goal, a regular columnist, off our list. We plan to sort out the exact specifics in our own time, but for now, who do you think would be a good fit?

Europe must “persuade younger Europeans that their heritage, culture and way of life — a fundamentally Christian civilization leavened and improved but not erased by the values of the Enlightenment — are worth defending,” our columnist Bret Stephens writes.
