#OneoftheTwo imagine mocking cancer survivors for masking. I’m a cancer survivor who is immunocompromised, and got long covid after my first infection. Covid is especially dangerous for people with cancer and who have had cancer and I would rather protect my already damaged immune system.

In 2026 let’s normalize masking for public health.
If we could admit that with healthcare being gutted, vaccine access restricted and previously eradicated diseases coming back… having an extra layer like a respirator makes good sense.

This is not specific to ICE JSYK. When my mother was evicted from our old family home, they helped themselves to our things too. And I hear of people who, when they are taken into police custody, have their personal possessions (ordinary, non-problematic items) lifted from them out of greed.
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.
Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.
"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.
