I spent $40 at McDonald’s the other day on dinner for my two kids, and it wasn’t extravagant. I normally don’t track prices for that sort of thing closely, but that is crazy.

FUENTES: “No. But women are very difficult to be around.”
P: “Should they vote?”
F: “No.”
PIERS: “They should stay home?”
FUENTES: “Yeah.”
PIERS: “So you’re just a misogynistic dinosaur. Have you ever had sex?”
FUENTES: “No.”
PIERS: “Wow. Says the guy who never got laid.”

Remember when we did not have a government where the President personally intervened in regulatory decisions to demand political favors?
TL;DR: Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos reportedly discussed the company's $82.7 billion deal to acquire Warner Bros. with President Trump, raising questions about federal regulatory approval amid competition from Paramount.

“Pluribus” is growing on me. The plot has taken a couple smart turns, the ideas are getting more interesting, and I’ve acclimated to the rhythm of the show. Also it’s clear now that Carol’s alienating personality, no pun intended, is intentional, which makes it way less cringey to watch.

Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

The only thing that's interesting about Nuzzi is the story of how an amoral careerist with no interest in policy and abysmal ethics became an acclaimed national political reporter. But rather than tell that story, the entire media seems desperate to play a part in it.
It rocks that all 20 people who genuinely think the Olivia Nuzzi stuff is interesting have editorial discretion at major media outlets. Just publish your group chats

Huge fan of “Breaking Bad” and Vince Gilligan. I like Rhea Seehorn. But “Pluribus” has been a slog so far. Carol is unsympathetic as a protagonist - a drip. Seehorn plays her with a level of anger that makes her really unpleasant. And the conceit leads to a lack of dramatic tension and conflict.
