Just throwing this out into the void I guess

the (somewhat) coordinated messaging all of a sudden on judicial warrants makes me think republicans got talking points from DHS or the white house because they know requiring those throws a giant iron bar into the spokes of the machine

i guess i would like to hear the theory on which setting fire to a random dumpster advances the cause of stopping ice

Umm, dumpster fires are like 10x-100x worse than tear gas and can give you cancer. So, maybe, like don't set them on fire?

step 1: light dumpster on fire
step 2: ?????
step 3: defeat ICE
February 3, 2026 at 6:50 AM
Oh wow, you’re following ICE around everywhere for weeks on end so they can’t do anything in secret?

That pales in comparison to my strategy, starting a fire in a dumpster and standing around pretending to be Che Guevara.

I don’t want ICE in my community.

I don’t want strange masked men taking my neighbors.

I don’t want strange masked men lighting fires in my city.

I want the world to see what’s happening in my community.

I want Minneapolis to be left alone and not made into a war zone.

"The Odyssey is not historically accurate because" Okay I'm gonna stop you there, you don't need "because," it isn't historically accurate and never was. It's a story. Homer made it up.

i know i've been pretty quiet but here's the result of my January: a totally handmade, fully-functional marionette created for a local winter-themed puppet show. she's called the Winter Maw & she'll eat you alive, just like real winter

People will live in some of the lowest population-dense areas of the country and still be like “we’re full. nobody move here.”

I just learned today about the meticulous decontamination procedures you have to follow if you visit Antarctica and I’m now 100% sure that’s the main reason the NFL won’t ever hold a game there

The more I've seen of the criticisms of Stancil, the more it feels like a bunch of people who believe there's some Stolen Valor associated with Stancil's whole deal.
I don’t want to start a whole big thing here, but the wording here is unintentionally revealing: the presumption that Stancil is somebody in need of redemption and has not satisfied that need through his actions is some seriously online brained nonsense.

So how do we think Phil Connors got those Wrestlemania tickets

This was before the Internet and he couldn’t go anywhere

Did he just happen to get them as comps before he went to Punxatawney? And he had them in his wallet the whole time?

What real heroism looks like is you drive past a school and it’s 7am and it’s -3 out and there are four dads posted at every door scanning every passing car to be sure it’s not someone coming to take the children. And you drive by at noon and they’re there. And you drive by at 3pm and they’re there
Anyway the real heroes of Minnesota are the countless volunteers doing boring shifts where nothing happens. The mom of three delivering food to 40 families in her kids’ school. The dad standing at the door of an elementary with a whistle for hours. The drivers endlessly looping, seeing nothing.

I see people being like “I’m not providing my resume, you just have to Google me and if you did you’d accept my authority and shut the fuck up,” and then I google them and don’t know exactly what it is that’s supposed to shut me the fuck up.

Because there’s no functioning theory behind any of this. There’s just a set of nonsensical rules, which are deployed selectively in dominance contests in the loosely organized activist network. Iron law of institutions.
I ask "how is the anonymity of people being betrayed by having a reporter around when those same people are very specifically appearing on multiple cameras in notable public gatherings daily" and I never seem to get an answer

there are technically complex aspects of politics where you should give appropriate deference to those with expertise: protesting is not one of them, it is definitionally something done mostly by amateurs when successful. the appropriate response to someone trying to pull rank like this is dismissal
I never claimed to be a leader of anything, and I’m not, I’ve been doing what thousands of other Minnesotans have been doing. With that said I know why it’s working because I SEE IT WORK: because the observers are disciplined, committed, nonviolent, and open. Their channels are open and HUGE.

But a lot of people who have spent many years in other kinds of activism - activism that is generally far less effective than our networks have been - seem horrified that Minnesota moms and college students stumbled on a new model. They are rushing to assert themselves as the “true” organizers.

My go-to us that if anyone talking about Epstein brings up Mossad more than Russia they're not entirely on the up and up.
It's all kinds of disturbing how often I keep coming across people who have turned, "Jeffrey Epstein ran an elite pedophile ring," into, "Israel ran an elite pedophile ring." They're doing Protocols of the Elders of Zion antisemitism to deflect blame from whole lot of powerful people, but leftishly.

wonder why they picked Will, instead of a news crew
After the Pretti shooting, one of those guys straight-up suckerpunched me for “filming faces”… as I filmed him and fully-masked friends lighting fires directly in front of the dozens of gathered press crews. Nonsensical; just dudes wanting someone to give them a reason. Not that different from ICE.

lol, the idea that it costs more to buy groceries than to eat out is so fantastically untrue it is basically all by itself a marker of intellectual depravity.
how can this possibly be true. you'd have to be eating trash when you eat out given how much more expensive the restaurants are in NYC. the only way it could be true is if you fast for two days and then eat at the AYCE $42 KBBQ place I went to the other day in New Jersey.

And that makes all the difference"
