You know what? I'm willing to empirically test this as many times as it takes to reach statistical certainty about any conclusions we reach
Michael C. Rockefeller got shipwrecked in 1963, washed up on an island, and was promptly eaten by cannibals.

related to this a lot of people in the pundit class need to learn how to just be annoyed by someone or something without turning it into What’s Wrong With America
i am fascinated by how nate silver turns everything he doesn’t like into a bespoke ideology. it’s not that he is annoyed by HCR, it is that she is a dreaded “ism” responsible for everything he doesn’t like about the democratic party. same with bluesky.
what the fuck are you talking about man

The police killing of Sonya Massey ignited protests throughout the country. In Illinois, a civilian commission met over the last year to debate changes—holding tense, difficult meetings.

This story follows the commission for months—and captures just how agonizing these processes can be.

It’s always the “You go, girl!” types, with “Listen to Black women” in their bios. They like to post about how they’d vote for Crockett for POTUS (and, Michelle Obama, obvs 🙄) but, now that shes running for an office that might get her there, they’re worried about *other people’s* misogynoir.
I just saw someone say Texas will never vote for a Black woman Democrat as if Texas has been voting for white male Democrats (cough beto cough cough) or white woman Democrats (wendy) or Black male Democrats (collin) all along.

We've tried all that. None of them won. Let Congresswoman Crockett try.

as a neighbor over in Alabama who has faced too many ballots with unopposed republicans, this makes me SO HAPPY for Texas!!!!
Texas Democrats just did something historic under the leadership of new state party chair @kendallscudder.bsky.social. We have filed a candidate in EVERY 2026 race.

U.S. Senate: 1 of 1
U.S. House: 38 of 38
State Senate: 15 of 15
State House: 150 of 150
State Board of Education: 8 of 8
We Did It, Texas Dems, We Did It
Candidates in every legislative, statewide, and federal race. Now it’s time to build power where it counts.

A lot of comments under this are saying things like "It's not OUR jobs to stop this, it's the job of Congress to stop it!" and like...NO. It IS our jobs as citizens to stop this; Congress is not some customer support line for us to lodge complaints with. We must be active in our civic virtue. TLDR:

News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.

I feel comfortable and secure in my belief that democratic leadership should not be pulling their slogans from venture capitalists. That this, at minimum, is a significant indictment of who they are listening and talking to. It’s not that complicated.
