Draining relationships period. The spinsters were likely women who didn’t see value in tying themselves to a man or saw how it ended poorly for women they knew including their moms.

almost every year, when 3Ls are stressing about the bar exam, I tell them to go sit in a court room. Look at the people who passed that minimum proficiency ass test lol. They did it, so you can absolutely do it.

And being there for your friend does not necessarily mean that you should be confronting the abuser or putting yourself in danger. Sometimes, being there just means continuing to invite them out. Answering a phone call. Checking in.
Please don't abandon your friends that are in abusive relationships. It will take them even longer to get out if you do. The cycle is real.

You can look at the Epstein files and conclude that only bad people have billions of dollars, but I think it’s also possible that having billions of dollars cauterizes your humanity
