people complaining about "woke" in #DnD are 100% actually upset about the inclusivity of D20 and CR, both tiny indie productions (compared to Hasbro) made by passionate people playing the game *they* want to play. thats the only reason they care how other people play the game; bc its a TV show 1/3

the thesis is on-its-face self-contradictory. "Some people are upset that there is a wide cultural shift." By definition, in DnD more than almost any other ex., that shift is driven by the masses. If they werent in the minority they wouldnt be grousing about being left behind!
This is a huge part of why so many people think we're in the middle of a widespread "anti-woke backlash": Small movements opposed to social progress are collected into trend stories by conservative media. Far larger movements that want more diversity are ignored or cast as threats.
"Woke is ruining D&D". Meanwhile Dimension 20, one of the wokest real play shows around, just sold out Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Bowl for live shows and brings armies of new players to RPGs.

this isnt even really a joke. "murdering civilians with impunity is necessary to win a war" is a theme that returns over and over in the CoD franchise. which is not to "violent video games" it, but to say that art and stories can reinforce what people already wanted to believe about the world

yes. i think the timing is really telling about who's career he is invested in. he knew RFK was a threat but sat on this scandal during confirmation. but his ex writes a book that probably includes some lies? now he must reluctantly come forward and set the record straight, 'for the public interest'
It is also worth remembering that while Lizza frames it as "reluctantly outing information that must now be public record" what he is really doing is "exposing the sexual history of a woman he used to date who is also 18 years his junior".
