Today is an absolute shitstorm of ICE presence in our MN town of 20,000. They stepped up the invasion like a motherfucker the second they claimed to be stepping it down.

What's glossed over a bit here is it took this guy who proved it like 25 years and a huge community push and tons of advocacy to make this happen. Same with guy who figured out you should wash hands before surgery. We think "why should all this obvious shit be so hard?" But it's ALWAYS been hard

Yet another film I'm ready to fight IMDB on.

Wendell and Wild, came out a few years ago but only got around to it now. Amazing animation, solid story, and just. I can see a lot of love of the craft and the story went into making it.

This is the point of the camps and deportations. They don't actually want immigrants out of the country. They know the economy would be wrecked without them. They just want to keep them afraid, silent, and compliant.
A friend recently bought me these Tiny Tates Gluten Free cookies and they're pretty delicious. I googled them to see where I could buy more but instead this popped up.

Gross. Evil.

I'll find another sweet treat.

Disability/dementia/incontinence etc are not karmic punishments for cruel people. They are all facts of life for many, and will likely happen to most who live long enough. If you’re going to criticize or make fun of Trump, you’ve gotta raise the bar higher than “haha this guy shits himself.”

Neil Gaiman is crawling out of his bog two years after sexual assault allegations to play the sweet old fantasy uncle again -- complete with name-dropping that book you like & his twee "make good art" catchphrase -- all in order to (of course) sell you his upcoming book. Don't you dare fall for it.

Hit me up if you want to join the "Slow But Awesome" chat which is for non-rapid response Minnesota disabled folks or whatever.
I need to start or join a signal chat that's just us mostly stationary crips in the Twin Cities, doing our best.

It'd be like the opposite of a RR chat, kinda (not that we aren't still doing things, just not rapidly).

do wish it'd be a bit more clear on WHEN a lot of things are since it's covering material from 1910-1960 it seems as well as potentially some things from the time it was published in i think 2013

Reading Augie's Secrets (one of a few resources from my Rabbi) to take notes for my next primary focus for a story idea and it's a fun read, it's also so informative that i'm constantly taking notes, guessing this will take while to get through lol

Hey remember when Minnesota passed Free Lunch for all students thanks to a Democratic trifecta only possible due to the hard work of grassroots organizers and the DFL actually working with progressives for once?

Klobuchar was on NPR taking credit for it. Didn't say a damn word about anyone else.
Minnesotans, we’ve been through a lot.

And I believe this moment calls for grit, resilience, and faith in each other.

I believe we must stand up for what’s right. And fix what’s wrong.

Today, I’m announcing my candidacy for Governor. youtu.be/SiV3xVkX-kg

Here are some ways to help Minnesota with all the essential but less visible needs.

But also, go get involved with your own community. Make new friends. Get those networks going. Learn what orgs in your city are already doing good work that needs support. Don't wait.

flip those logs. go into those weird little stores on main street. look at the lichens and mosses on trees and rocks, and watch the tiny fish swimming in the ponds. life is full of small wonders and delights that you can only see if you look for them
If you’re over 30, quote this with some life advice 🤌🏼

In a blistering ruling, a Bush-appointed conservative federal judge said that ICE "has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence."

Congress must not give one more cent to this rogue agency.
