Also, look: a sad fact is a lot of Americans cannot extend their empathy to all of humanity but can extend it to some people who are more similar to them. I agree this represents a moral deficiency but it's more urgent for us to take power than it is to correct the moral failing of many Americans.
i think it is ok to reiterate that the victim as a us citizen. yes, noncitizens are equally entitled to human rights. but also, it's important to illustrate how ice isn't about immigration at all

I think a potential issue with a platform like bluesky isn’t that the average user is no longer forced to sift through dozens of posts hating immigrants and trans people just to read a page — it’s that bluesky users might become insulated by community against how morally bankrupt it is out here.
