Absolutely. And ban gambling ads and restrict the presence of gambling on our high streets.
The Princess of Wales has made an impassioned plea for ‘compassion and love’ in the fight against addiction, imploring the public to end the ‘stigma’ surrounding the experiences of those who are dependent on drugs, alcohol, or gambling.

Boys in my class did this to our Jewish Latin teacher, Michael Vogel. Made gas noises.

He just looked at them, for a long time, said nothing and carried with on the lesson.

And I did nothing. I said nothing. I will be ashamed for as long as I live.
"Farage repeatedly... said Hitler was right and 'gas 'em', and that was frequently followed by a 'sssss'... the sound of escaping gas.

"He said Farage's words had "hit hard" because his grandparents had escaped Nazi Germany and much of their family had perished in the Holocaust"

Peter Ettedgui tells the BBC Nigel Farage targeted antisemitic abuse at him when they were teenagers.

On the one hand, fuck this racist shit; on the other hand, congratulations to the staff on dodging the exhaustion of a play at the end of a term that lasts the length of the Bible.

On the advice of a friend, I’ve walked into St Andrew’s Gardens on my way to Fitzrovia. A former graveyard, it’s a green place of peace in a busy city. I’m sure you’ve been here, @theprofrog.bsky.social!

This is what I hope my retirement will involve: enriching encounters and interesting places.

Think nit-comb and you get the idea…
Guys: it's a fine-tooth *comb*, not a fine *tooth*-comb.

When did you last comb your teeth?

Tonight, while celebrating our daughter’s birthday at the Ritz, I saw a young woman at a table near us get down on one knee and offer an engagement ring to her girlfriend.

I couldn’t stop myself from starting a round of applause in the dining room.

As I told them, they made a lot of people happy.

I used to stay with my grandpa in Selkirk. He had a morbidly obese cat called Perky (but known as Porky).

I couldn’t understand why my pillow was always damp … until I smelled it.

The nieces are staying over for two nights and the piss terrorist cat has already hissed at them. Now taking bets on how much piss terrorism there will be when she realizes they're staying in Sarah's usual bedroom

A statue is not history.
A statue is propaganda.
At the risk of stating the obvious, statues like these are not objective records of empire, but deliberate, ex post facto public celebrations of a perceived past, erected with a selective presentism all their own - i.e. the exact process TD is railing against here.
'Responding to the decision, Devine, 80, said: “In principle I am opposed to changing historic artefacts to suit today’s tastes. To do so is presentism, imposing 20th-century values on those of the distant past.'

'20th-century'? Bit of an own goal Sir T.
