I'm not a diplomat, but one thing I have to do regularly is to draft or help to draft public statements that parties to litigation agree as part of a settlement. There is an art to drafting something that reasonable readers can agree is clear but from which they draw irreconcilable meanings. /1

Hoping Trump will read the ‘we also hated Maduro’ opening paragraph

Hoping the rest of the world sees the ‘we like international law’ paragraph under it

“What appears to be a newly created account appeared to invest $30,000 Friday in Maduro's exit. After Maduro went into custody Saturday morning, that same investor netted $436,759.61.”
Someone made $400K by predicting Maduro's capture. Here's what happened
The winnings come as the rules governing prediction markets are still evolving.

What can I say here? If this can be done to dictators, like that, then the United States of America know what they should do next.

Fascinating to see the almost uniformly supportive comments on this video. Given the content and audience I would have expected a mostly supportive view but virtually nobody seems to care about whether the United States had any business doing what they did youtu.be/QZQUoW9UIvw?...
