i'm against barriers to the fanchise but it would be extremely funny if the republicans enact barriers to voting and nuke their voter base
Been toying with the same thought. Pointless barriers to voting pitched as a solution to an imaginary problem are a bad idea in principle, but Republicans seem very sure it will help them on net, and that’s not really obvious to me.
The funny thing about the MAGA voter ID crusade is...are they SURE they want to do that? Increase the hurdles to advantage the most motivated? Because I assure you, Democratic voters will jump through any hoop you put in front of them to get a ballot cast. Can MAGA say the same of its voters?

I am Graham Platner's age. I too was in the post 9/11 military. I also grew up in a small town in the Northeast US. I am also a college dropout with PTSD. And I am telling you: anyone from my demographic who had a Nazi tattoo for 15 years is either a Nazi or too dumb to be an effective US senator.

Sort of gives away the lie that they're arresting hardened criminals who are drags on society when they're setting up traps to lure in Good Samaritans
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

I'm sure all those rural voters won't be affected right?

I'm guessing those groups will take notice now. Have fun, Fuckerberg
In an internal memo in May, Meta laid out its plans to release facial recognition in its smart glasses, to the blind first, & then to the general public.

“Civil society groups that we would expect to attack us would have their resources focused on other concerns.”

Burn every For Profit Prison company to the ground. Even before Trump this idea seemed sick and wrong to me and led to a system of fucked up incentives.
“detention by ICE has been below what investors thought it going to be”

What kind of fucked up country
So dark — Tennessee-based @CoreCivic wants to be making even more money on ICE detentions.

“ICE was our first customer 43 years ago, and has been our largest customer for over a decade,” CoreCivic CEO Patrick Swindle said on the earnings call.

So I guess it's another instance of "a video proves ICE is lying".
BREAKING: DOJ moves to drop criminal charges in alleged shovel/broom attack in Minneapolis that led ICE to open fire. "Newly discovered evidence in this matter is materially inconsistent with the allegations in the Complaint Affidavit," prosecutors say. www.documentcloud.org/documents/26...

So it was the funny/stupid third thing
It's fun that we have to wonder if it's this or invading Mexico or some other, funny third thing.
Fundamentally my assumption on El Paso and its special security measures is pretty clear evidence the government is so understaffed that it cannot handle routine communications

Yes, prep for me was nothing like stories I've heard. It's a simple procedure to have done.
I didn't think prep was all that bad. I was more grateful to know there were no issues. My doctor said she's seeing younger and younger men coming in with colon cancer.

Just do it.
Please, please get a colonoscopy. The prep kind of sucks, but it's the best sleep you'll ever have. And it could save your life.

Age verification?

I played with lawn darts before they were outlawed
Age verification?

There are two kinds of floppy disks: the kind that are floppy, and the kind that are hard, but don't call the hard floppy disk a hard disk because that's a different thing.
Age Verification? I know what a MUD is.

I see the flag all the time and it's flown by the people Don mentions in the last sentence.
If the current moment has taught us anything, it is about the uselessness of libertarianism.
The image sums it up perfectly. The Gadsden flag was all out during the Obama era. How often do you see it now? Most of the principled libertarians were happy to trad their principles for Trumpism.
I feel like I'm losing my goddamnned mind.
