there we go
Amid growing calls for the abolition of ICE, Rep. Delia Ramirez is calling for the entire DHS to be dismantled. Highlighting how much experience the officers who killed Renee Good and Alex Pretti had, Ramirez said, “DHS was built to violate our rights and has been empowered to act with impunity.”
House Democrat Says Abolishing ICE Isn’t Enough — DHS Must Go, Too
“The problem isn’t ‘training.’ DHS was built to violate our rights,” said Rep. Delia C. Ramirez.

We gotta bring back the hellthread
Once again saw someone calling Bluesky a "no fun all politics scold zone"

Once again it was one of the wave who came here in Nov 24 and turned it from "the fat cock Friday and Tom Boobadill site" to "the place where newbies say 'Orange Man Bad' to each other".

TECHNICALLY by legal definition, murder is premeditated and intentional killing. Manslaughter is when you kill someone without premeditation or intent.

In the case of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, “murder” is correct because both times, agents chose to draw their lethal firearms & shoot repeatedly.

Finding people online raking someone over the coals who you already know to be a weirdo is very gratifying. Anyway, here's the worst take you've seen today from one of the most obnoxious users on this app.

Minnesotans need to drag this man out of the Governor's residence by his remaining hair and chain him to the gates of the nearest ICE camp so that every Nazi thug who wants to murder more people has to go through his doughy body to do it
"I'm gonna give Homan the benefit of the doubt"

"They should coordinate with local law enforcement, pick these people up in the middle of the night when they're not suspecting it"

Walz is capitulating to fascists and encouraging night raids. Genuinely disgusting. Why would anyone settle for this?

i cannot express how deeply upsetting it is to hear your people being talked about in such a dehumanizing way, especially from someone who should know far better

This is the lesson over and over btw. People really want something they can believe in that they can put into practice.
I have begun to think that Minnesota pushback to ICE was unique and a model because it gave people something to do. It wasn’t about just going out in streets for rallying purposes. People had a mission: videos, whistles, information and communication flow to communities. They had something to do.

I don’t know what he said or what he sprayed from that syringe, but Omar was squared up & ready to handle him.

And then continued her talk. I don’t know what’s in the water in Minnesota, but these folks have been underestimated.Later I’m sure Omar was shaking & maybe shed a tear, but..
REP. OMAR after being attacked with liquid: “We will continue! These fucking assholes are not gonna get away with this! Here is the reality people like this ugly man don’t understand — we are Minnesota Strong. We’ll stay resilient in the face of whatever they might throw at us.”

I keep thinking about the first sentence in this 'graph. So many of the MAGA people in my family cling to this notion that they are the "silent majority" while also claiming that winning an election reflects the will of the people.

They are TERRIFIED that they might be in the minority.

She’s a dullard, Jeff Bezos is a dullard. Zuck is a dullard. The paramount weirdos are dullards. A system of mutual flattery holds everything up but appeals to absolutely no one in the real world and so you end up with her cratering the ratings for CBS and there’s no move but to do more of the same.

Very bizarre to watch a whole lot of liberals suddenly shifting leftward in their rhetoric such that a number of things we've been saying for decades are said on mainstream podcasts and shows in revelatory tones.

Glad they're coming around, but if you want the gift of prophecy, read leftist books.

Clark and co. raise an alarming prospect here. Worth watching the full segment. The USPS is a lever Trump has proven willing to grab in the past, and he could deploy it in service of election abuse.
The Trump administration is linking its use of force in Minnesota to policy goals like obtaining voter rolls. Colorado faces a similar demand. The Secretary of State said no threat of force will cause her to comply. And we asked if CO can conduct a mail election without the USPS.

Are you aware that begging people to use your AI software is essentially admitting out loud that there's a bubble? Because all this spending and strip-mining the planet is being sold on the assumption that these tools have a mass market.

The right only ever cared about the 2nd Amendment because their plan was to spark a civil war if they couldn't implement fascism electorally. Now that they have achieved fascism, they can do away with 2A rights for the opposition.

After a second ICE murder, it's worth noting we know more about the number of individuals injured by cows each year than people injured by our government. This is driven not by a lack of technological sophistication, but by a lack of action. From Jacob Fuller: trib.al/iBuyFuk

How decades of inaction on police reform paved the road for ICE’s lack of transparency

You’ve got to love how actress Kelly Marie Tran, one of the most harassed people ever to be on the internet, still leapt up to defend trans people in a recent interview. No one would blame her for keeping her head down and shutting up forever but she will NOT and I admire her for it ⭐
